The Brainiacs are saying that Swoopes won the job. That's okay by me, play Swoopes the first two series while Buechele watches. If Swoopes moves the offense and we score then keep him in, if not put in Shane.

Coach Strong and the staff have made a decision on who their starter will be. I spoke to a couple sources last night about where things stand. And let’s just say that the incumbent proved harder to defeat than expected but if he doesn’t perform on the field then he won’t sit in the oval office for long.

Props to Anwar Richardson and Orangebloods for having the guts to even suggest this was a possibility early in the camp.

Okay, I may be nitpicking here but am I just missing the statement in the article where The Brainiacs definitively said that Swoopes won the job? They for sure imply it but they never really come right out and say it.

Two sources is encouraging for that result, but certainly not a verification of truth. Two people can be wrong just as easy as one can.

I'm thinking it's Buechele. Just going by practice feedback and the stuff Charlie has said in past weeks. I just don't see hearing that stuff then hearing somebody we didn't hear much about got the job. There's also that "great practice QB" thing we saw each of Swoopes years here that never translated into a game.

I may be wrong, I've been wrong many times. But I think its Buechele.

I jokingly said Trey Holtz, but seriously, I'm Not too worried about who starts. I believe the new offense is going to make either of the two very serviceable.  Also we have so much talent now, that this year we are going to be able to substitute fresh bodies in the second half and win several of the games we lost last year.  I would not want to schedule Texas in 2018.
