During the last 4 years of Mack's time, what did we hear ad nauseum about the program ?

Soft...country-club...no accountability...entitled...Sally's cookies.

Actually we heard it longer than 4-years, but when we were winning 10-13 games a year for a decade, we could work around it. but 5-7 and the subsequest 3-years left us as a fanbase wanting the 'anti-Mack'. Maybe not everybody, but most it seemed.

So who did we hire? the 'anti-Mack'. Not soft, no country club. Acountability? yep. Entitled? doesn't look like it. No idea if Mrs Strong makes cookies for the boys, but i'm guessing not.

At first glance 'nine players dismissed' seems draconian, but when the facts come to light, as they did re Estelle yesterday, it makes more sense.

Basically, we got what we collectively wanted in a coach. i wonder if those complaining about his tactics today were demanding a guy like this 9-months ago ?

Now, the question is will it translate into wins. TBD. if it doesn't, he'll be fired. If it does, it'll make a helluva case-study.

Are there really people complaining? Texas fans?

I know the Finebaum's of the world are gracing us with their opinion, but not only is it uninformed, it's also media-driven.

My question is if the guy in section 107 that bought season tickets is complaining?

you don't subscibe to OB anymore, i take it.

Golic had a nice counter to Finebaum this morning by the way.

Short-term pain for long-term gain.

Don't kid yourself folks, the no discipline (or class) people at OU and A&M are worried.  SEC lapdog, Finebaum, took a shot at CFS yesterday on ESPN U saying, "He's not the right man for the UT job".  Keep talking - it's all music to my ears.

Dismissing malcontents and character problems isn't easy for CFS.  It shouldn't be this hard to comply with CFS core values, but for some it is.  Maybe they just aren't that committed to being a UT football player or a good student?  Let alone an ambassador for our great University.

This year - and possibly next - is gonna be hard.  But remember, CFS was 7-6 his first two seasons at Louisville.  Based on precedent, we can expect to win Year 3 of his tenure. I'm fine with that.

Patience, my friends.  Who would you rather our program look like and be compared to - OU or Stanford?  I'll take the latter.  \m/

Yeah, but it's the NEGATIVE HEADLINES that must stop!
Take a deep breath.

Haters will hate and certain talking heads will stir the pot just to stir the pot because that's what they do. I have all the confidence in the world that Strong and his staff can overcome most of noise out there.

 It is an interesting question.

Memory fades the longer away we get from events.  I would say that, if we were able to go back in time only back as far as last December, the majority here would have answered with: "Nick Saban."

not me. i wanted the 'next' nick saban, at least in terms of on the field success. meet me back here in 3 years and let's see how we did.
