I'd go to the Texas HS ranks for an OC before I settled for Watson!

Todd Dodge would be a great start. Lots of other names also come to mind. He is a TX ex and has excellent report with HS coaches. His HS work at SLC was outstanding and easily matched what Morris did at Lake Travis. Too bad he got antsy and settled for the N. Tex job instead of waiting for an OC job like Morris. The timing was really bad and I don't think they gave his enough time to really turn it around. Just my two cents.

I'd go get Sterlin Gilbert. Former Texas HS coach and was the Eastern Illinois OC last year and was the coordinator of the year at that level and coached the Heisman Trophy winner at that level.

Let's hire Al Bundy. Geez, this stuff is getting ridiculous. Strong was hired to do a job. If you are on board with Strong as our head coach, let him make the damn decisions and do his job. He knows the outcomes are on him. If he is confident in his hires, I am too. The proof will be over the next three seasons.

I like Strong. He wouldn't have been my choice but I like him as a HC. I have to be honest with you though, if he is forced to hire Watson, then he has accomplished nothing as far as I am concerned. To me it would be the total admission of failure in his search for an OC! Having said that, I will continue to support him no matter what and simply hope for the best. I really do believe he is doing his best to put together a great staff. I also think he is finding it harder to do at UT than it was at UL and expect to have the same kind of success.

He's a legit up and coming OC. Massive ties to Texas. Runs an uptempo spread. Pretty much fits what Strong is wanting from his OC hire to a T. Offense averaged 600 yards a game, nearly 50 points and almost had 2 1,000 yard rushers. Coached the Walter Camp Award winner. What's not to like?

I have a different take - let them go far out onto the ledge, then push them off. It will dramatically cleanse the gene pool.
