Which one is the skins fan? Cowboys fan?

No cartilage damage. Inside meniscus had to be trimmed and cleaned up. Outer meniscus was stitched back together. (I may have those backwards, but I'm not certain.) No MCL damage.
Not trying to be a wise guy, but the meniscus is a cartilage spacer between the long bones of the joint (but there is also thin layered cartilage covering the end of the long bones). Sounds like minimal damage to the meniscus, is he allowed to bear weight on the knee currently? Sometimes if a repair has been performed to a significant degree to the meniscus cartilage the orthos will not allow weightbearing to allow better healing. Meniscus have poor vascularization/oxygenation and heal slowly. If a small injury occurs on the outer layers/periphery it is much better than if the internal layers are torn. They have better blood flow to the outer 1/3 layer which is a better spot to repair and for improved healing. Hopefully his injury was only minimal and he is allowed to walk on the leg currently. But, not the end of the world if he is non-weightbearing for a stretch. Just gotta let it heal and follow restrictions until cleared!

No weight bearing for the first two weeks. Didn't take it as being a wise guy. I'm not a doctor, and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express recently either. ;)

I hear you can make your own tasty waffles at the Holiday Inn Express...sweet. So the two week period was to allow the meniscus repair to heal adequately before weight is placed on the knee. This lets the repair take, excessive weight too early could hinder the healing process. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks.  That's what the Ortho said as well, (about the meniscus, not the waffles! :) )

Appreciate your insight.

Your Spanish is correct, but the city is named after the camas lily, a prized Native American plant.

I give you a 9 on navigating through that one. I mean, after all, there's a buttload of native American plants.

Otherwise, you'd have to have said "my city was named after a friggin flower." . . which in itself is a very good thing in my world  :D

Is anyone else noticing something about the polls? Maybe I'm delusional, I don't know. But it seems once you get there, the AP doesn't want you to leave.

Do we have parity in HS football so much that putting together a winning record is a tough thing to do? Is HS football on the slide?

For instance, Westfield loses, but doesn't drop but a notch or two. In the past, you lose you drop out of the poll if you're at 6 or higher. Last week, Longview loses but is still ranked.

Then 5A Austin Westlake defeated two excellent teams (SLC & Temple) to open their season and still couldn't get ranked. Stephenville kept losing and kept staying ranked until it was just too obvious.

Anyone else noticing the inconsistency this year?

While I'm ranting . . . some good stories that should be written, but haven't been thus far . . . what's wrong with Fort Worth High School football? There, I said it. They haven't won jack since the early 80s when Eastern Hills was very good. Even El Paso puts out a winner (Canutillo, recently) from time to time. . . . not understanding the lack of attention paid to Trevor Speights down in the valley, kid is breaking records and making it look easy. He deserves a serious look.

I've been waiting for Green Thumb to chime in on this one!

No measurement exists that is more precise and finite than "buttload".

Well, my wife is an elementary school teacher up here, so my resources were not too hard to locate.  B)

Donna Redskins 63

PSJA Bears 0

FINAL
we dominated them!!  actually, when i was at donna, donna and psja were in different classifications.  psja was a bigger school.  they would have killed us in football back then.  but not baseball.  i played baseball for donna and we beat psja my senior year.   :)

Rotty, if I remember correctly, PSJA Bears has been struggling for the past couple of years. They're struggling to regain an identity. They were OK when I played them in high school, but are going through a rough stretch right now

Rotty what year did you graduate from Donna? I am class of 82. We played PSJA and Weslaco every year back then.

1982.  i was your classmate.  i don't recall playing psja in football.  but i guess you would know since you played football.

Small world. We actually have 3 posters from the valley on here. Have to forgive bry-man though, he is a fan of Weslaco. Rotty do you still live in the valley?

Haha hey now don't be jealous ;)

My dad was a position coach/OC for Weslaco in the 80s and 90s, and I played for the class of 2008, so I don't think I ever played against you guys :P
