Goodell wants to meet with Strong?

Trey Scott of 247, "UT Spokesperson tells us no meeting has been scheduled." 

Did Chip pull another Chip? 

 
As soon as someone other than Chip reports it, I'll believe it. I'm seeing crap all over twitter that yes, they are meeting and no, no meeting is scheduled or has been discussed.

I don't believe either to be honest. About the only sites I take seriously nowadays are HornSports and 247. I thought for sure that based on Chip's past and the magnitude of this story he couldn't have been dumb enough to screw it up. I don't even read anything associated with IT anymore. I'm about to do the same with Chip.

don't get me wrong. i don't take anything any site reports as gospel, but their new guy is quoting a UT official as saying the previously reported Sunday meeting isn't happening.

now it doesn't say there was no contact between the parties or a meeting some other time might happen.

who the hell knows? Maybe Goodell lobbed a phone call CS' way. or maybe it's all BS.

sure seems like some interpid reporter could just call and say 'Hey Charlie, have you had any contact with anybody in the NFL?' but i guess things don't work that way.

Seems to me like this isn't the type of story with any in between, it's either true or complete BS. If it's complete BS I'm not sure how Chip thought he could actually get away with it. I'm honestly getting to the point where I think Chip makes up stories, and he could give two craps about the truth behind it as long as it brings in viewers/money.

I think smart money is on Anwar's NFL sources and contacts, not Chip's, at least in this case.

 
Chip Brown is very histrionic and unreliable.

I have no idea whether this story is true or not.

It really doesn't matter, now, if the story is true or not.  It cannot be unseen and it throws Charlie Strong in a really favorable light.  It's going to be hard for the coaches of aggie, Baylor, OU and LSU to tell a recruits parents that Strong is too rigid and uncompromising.

All the chatter on Twitter, ESPN and the other outlets have all been about Strong's 5 rules.  and it has all been good - with the exception of Feinbaum who is a well known idiot.

It's throughout the country now and that is wonderful.  If the rich old reprobates will just keep from interfering and let Strong do his job, we will be back once again.

Character and integrity will always win out - DKR says hi.
