He wants to finish his degree this semester and play at SMU as a graduate student. 27 hours? He's off his rocker.

Gilbert, the former Texas QB, is taking 27 credit hours of classes this semester in order to graduate from UT in May. That will allow Gilbert to transfer to SMU, enroll as a graduate student and play immediately. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Gilbert said he's taking six traditional classes and three online courses to complete his degree in sports management.

I had to get permission from the damn dean to take 17 hours one semester! Online classes are cake though but still he must have no life outside of school now.

Damn, can he come back and play qb? We might need him!
If he does not quit, he would have played a lot down the stretch. He'll have a good career at SMU and hopefully both programs are okay. Maybe he'll see some good hoop too with Larry Brown coaching the Mustang hoop team.
