SUNDAY HOOPS - #7/8 Texas (8-1, 0-0 Big 12) vs. Stanford (4-6, 0-2 Pac-12) Tips at Noon today and airs on ESPN2.

Game is being played at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The Stanford 1-3-1 zone gave Texas fits early in the game but glad to see we figured it out. Really good defense by the Horns, need to keep it up. Shooting 3s has to improve however we've said that before.

A good win for the Horns. They seemed like they were back to their old selves again after the shock of what happened.

Does Rodney Terry have a future at UT as HC? Or will we go searching again?

Agree, they looked like a different team than the one who played Rice last Monday. They came out to start the 2nd half on fire and then hit a cold spell. Be that said, they hit the baskets down the stretch when they needed to.

Jury is still out on Coach Terry IMHO. I believe the players are behind him but can he keep them playing high level basketball like Beard did. If he doesn't pan out and we do need to shop for a new coach, Scott Drew and Nate Oats (Bama HC) are 2 to look at.

Big win with Director's Cup implications too. Mostly that it is another loss on their resume and I don't think that Stanford makes the tournament this year. No tournament means a zero score in a sport that is a required counter for the director's cup.

Terry is getting an extended audition. At this point, however, they'll have to at least interview some other candidates after the season before making a decision.

That said, solid win. Keep the train rolling down the tracks.
