After an OT win against the Kansas Jayhawks in Austin on Tuesday, the Longhorns begin a four-game road trip to close out the regular season.  The first stop takes place in Lubbock on Saturday to face a ranked Texas Tech team that beat Texas in Austin last month 79-77.

With the Big 12 and NCAA Tournaments looming, every win down the stretch matters for Shaka Smart's team.

What:  #14 Texas Longhorns (14-6, 8-5) vs. #18 Texas Tech Red Raiders (14-8, 6-7)
When:  Saturday, February 27, 2021
Time:  11:00 AM
Venue:  United Supermarkets Arena
Location:  Lubbock, TX
Television:  CBS

Last meeting between these two teams: Texas Tech defeated Texas 79-77 (January 13, 2021 - Austin, TX)
All-time series record:  Texas leads Texas Tech 87-62

Tech sweeps the season series with Texas. Second half is a bad time to disappear.

In normal times, sweeping Kansas would likely mean you're winning the conference. This year, doesn't really mean anything.

This team is extremely inconsistent, to say the least.  Disappointing loss for Shaka Smart.  Texas needed this game for a little momentum but couldn’t grab it.  3 road games left in the regular season and not one is a gimmee.

Terrible last 2 minutes from Texas. Not a game I thought they’d win but still sucks when they blow their chances.

What is the answer? Fire Shaka, maybe maybe not.He hasnot missed a layup or a free throw. Make wild shots or passes. This team cannot stand to be ahead, instead of protecting the ball they get wild untilthey lose the lead

If Shaka goes who to hire. Coach does make a big deference. One of the best HS coaches I know of was fired for encouraging players to not play football and get early start ob BB .

Just a middle of the pack team of no national significance. Had high hopes for Shaka. This was supposed to be his best team since he's been here and they still look lost. At least the women's side now has signs of hope and a bright future. The men, not so much.

Don't even know who we would want/get. Is this going to be another buyout costing $$ millions.

I want Tech's head coach. Guy coaches his tail off.

First thing to do is fire Shaka. A decent high school coach would be far better.

He should’ve been fired three years ago and I said it then. He has been a lost cause since he was hired.

The high school coach I mentioned could do better. Too bad he is hopefly coaching on a golden court.Took a BB team that could not even smell a districk title, and won acouple of State titles.

Yes, you have. I will testify to that. lol

Given that we have a real habit of collapsing in the middle of a season that has endured through two coaches now, I wonder if moving to the new basketball arena next year will remove the obvious hex on our team.

Its so bad that it was a fear I thought of every day while we were racing out to a #3 ranking earlier this season.

I’ve gone from excited to apathetic here.  Same old same old......  The over under is advancing in the first round of the big dance.  I’m not sure if I take the over or under.
