Texas commits head into State Semi Final round

And then there were three.

Three Texas commits remain in contention for the big prize, the state championship. Cameron Dicker, the kicker for Lake Travis; B.J. Foster, the do it all player for Angleton; and Keaontay Ingram, the workhorse tailback for Carthage, all walked away winners in the state regional finals last week.

Texas already has one state champion commit, from Kentucky, in Rondale Moore who was also named Kentucky’s “Mr Football” last week.

Now, in the state semifinals, everything gets a bit more difficult and complicated. Foster could be playing in the state’s best contest this week when he and his Wildcat team mates take on Manvel in NRG Stadium. The amount of talent on the field will be staggering.

Ingram and his Bulldogs will meet undefeated LaVega at the Ford Center in Frisco. And Dicker and the Cavaliers will take on powerful Katy in the Alamodome.

Keep an eye on the Boling vs Newton game in Porter. Boling Do-it-all Vernon Jackson, a Texas target, had the mother of all nights last week when he racked up 418 yards on 36 carries and five touchdowns.

Teams I'm hot on right now – Pleasant Grove, Muenster, Austin McCallum.

If I were going to a game this weekend it would be (I'm in DFW):

1. Canadian vs Gunter in Vernon

or

2. Carthage vs LaVega in Frisco

Best game in the state: Angleton vs Manvel at NRG

Upset pick of the week: Mansfield Legacy over Aledo

My DirecTV schedule is showing replays of the 3A-II Final game on Fri morning, but nothing for Thur night, on Fox Sports SW (Ch 676 on DTV).  UIL shows it set for that Thur night.

Carthage vs La Vega would be my pick hands down. Both teams have breezed through the playoffs.

We have a few games Thursday night and I will be here to post those as they progress. But I'm in a deer stand again Friday afternoon so I won't be here Friday night or Saturday. FYI

SHA

In your line of work I'm sure you're in good with the rain gods. Please ask them for rain in Kaufman County. My duck ponds are dry.

I'll be further east, near the Arkansas border. But I hear we have a good shot for rain Saturday evening. Only supposed to be a half inch though. Maybe more where your pond is at.

Where I'll be, they calling for all-day rain with lows in the low 30s which should be fun.

I'll be at the Graham/Pleasant Grove game tonight, it'll be my first time at The Star.

Then I'll be at another game on Saturday. Should be a fun weekend of high school football. Best time of the year!

Awesome job with this btw! I'm very interested in our matchup (Wos) with Wimberly. Their qb has 49 tds and only 1 int. That offense against the chain gang defense is very intriguing. DCTF agrees. CAN'T wait! Go 'Stangs.

Pleasant Grove's OL and DL are just dominating this one. Frustration is showing on the Graham side, lots of punches being thrown.
