ESPN uncovers evidence that Pete Rose bet on baseball while still playing for Reds

I'm not for Pete Rose getting into the HOF, but he should get there before guys like Bonds or ARod.  There is definite proof that they cheated, that Rose cheated is speculation.  I know he bet and that is inexcusable.  How many games did Bonds change the outcome of by juicing up?

You are absolutely right Capn. I was a huge Clemens fan, I remember my seven year old self routing for him in 83 even though Calvin was the ace of that staff. And I will never root for him to be in the Hall of Fame, he cheated the game. Same as bonds, same as Rodriguez, and same as McGuire. The absolute same as Rose. I would have rather Steve Howell have gotten 25 more chances with cocaine than any of those guys get into a Cooperstown. I will not now nor will I ever forgive someone for cheating the game. That's what Rose did. He, just like the roid monkeys, cheated the game.

He brought his own cheering section today

We fundamentally disagree . Gambling does effect the integrity of the game. Yes, even if he bet on his team. If I bet on my team 3 days in a row, what message am I sending to my wise guy friends if I don't bet the fourth day?
that you're taking the day off.

as long as he bet on his team, i'm ok with it.  betting had no effect on him being the hit leader.  put him in the HOF.
