ESPN is really lazy when it comes to talking about the Horn's basketball team.

The whole meme today was how Texas didn't have the talent. Wtf, Texas has 6-8 guys in their rotational that were in the Top 110 depending on what lists you look at between rivals and ESPN.

It shouldn't surprise that Holmes, Ridley, and Felix are improved to All Big 12 caliber players. The only player they have a point with is Taylor, who was woefully under-rated coming out of HS but was the best player on the court today.

Totally agree Leininger. This Texas team obviously has some talent and starting to gel. Tired of not getting the props they deserve.

Espn only cares about the northeast are of the country and sports poster boys.

Team players vs one and dones who underachieved for KU. Gotta like these horns playing together as opposed to the mess we had last year.

Two thoughts I've had on this subject:

1) They are sick of the LHN and just want anything Texas to go away.

2) They rely on the LHN to pimp UT.

Beauty of the tournament is Texas can shutup naysayers with wins. I'll take a sweet 16 appearance this year over accolades from any media outlet.

Agree with PTA...

I don't think they're lazy, but I do think they intentionally focus on teams other than Texas. They may feel that Texas gets too much attention.....It has been pretty obvious over the last several years, even before the LHN...

During the game broadcast, they were giving Taylor some serious props there toward the end of the game.

ESPN is pro-SEC in football and pro-east coast in basketball. If you're good, you'll have to make it painfully obvious before they'll say anything. 2005 football season is a perfect example.

If the season ended today, I'd be happy. We overachieved, got a great coaching job from Barnes, and developed some players and chemistry. We would finish at #2 in the conference with several wins over top 25 teams, a win over the conference champ, after being picked to finish near the bottom of the conference.

Not bad at all.

...the only entity that is lazy is us... for refusing to the recall the "roller coaster rides" as per our basketball teams of years past. the only way to counter any immediate non accolades as per the media... is to win. AND WIN BIG BABY!

So true about the 2005 season. I remember John Saunders arguing that Virginia Tech was better than Texas.

You bet. And ESPN pimped Reggie Bush to the Heisman and then proclaimed USC the best college football team of all time, capable of beating several NFL teams that year.

Then Vince showed them up in the MNC game and the ESPN propped giant came tumbling down.

I do not care if the media ever says a word about UT. Stay under the radar, and keep winning.

The updated ESPN-version of the RPI shows Kansas #1

While we moved up to #21

This is not the real thing but usually pretty accurate.

So you would be fine with 1 and done in the tourney?
