mama said there would be day's like this.. but then, there's mama's recipes...

all one had to do upon last saturday's (28-7) consecutive year loss to baylor, was just gaze upon into the illustrious stands of DKR, and notice all of the empty seats, for what was supposed to be one of our biggest games of the season... TEXAS, is not having any fun!  oh no, i did not attend this particular game, for i have my own personal reasons (flew in for UNT / BYU games).  however, i for one, could just imagine what was going through the minds of the huge allotment of young and important recruits, that were hereby in attendance at such an monumental gridiron event.  yes, TEXAS is losing big football games.  everyone upon this globe can now attest to this... but we are still TEXAS, right?

this is all coach strong's fault!  yes.  you see, at the very beginning as per his new helm of UT football, it was he, that initiated the now famous campaign of "placing the "T" back into TEXAS!  now one can only assume that this particular approach, was created to inspire, motivate, educate, mold, and nurture his new football team into his vision.  i simply cannot forget just how we all became so very enamored as per this new approach.  many of us were hereby thinking, "well, this is just what is needed at TEXAS, not to mention.. at just the right time".  many of us decided to just sit back, praise our new coach, raise up our horns... and let the event's unfold.  we are still waiting... this year's TEXAS football team, lack's toughness and overall skill upon key areas of the team.  everyone can now attest to this fact.  many of us LONGHORN NATION stalwarts, have hereby resigned ourselves to already start thinking about next year.  however, the problem with gearing up as per next year's team, is recruitment.  moving forward towards the december recruitment signing deadlines, a great recruitment season.. shall indeed become the overall essential to TEXAS moving forward.

i am becoming very worried.  i have tried in earnest to place myself into the mindset of a young, confident, glamorous, intimidating recruit.  i have tried to balance the pros vs cons of the multiple institutions of higher learning, that are hereby constantly beckoning these future gridiron stars, to come forth and experience their respective greatness.  therefore, i shall now try and place all into perspective, from the sole standpoint of a TEXAS recruit.  (i start to receive my huge allotment of really nicely adorned TEXAS recruitment stationary.. weekly, monthly.  i have been invited to attend a gridiron matchup as per coach strong and staff.  i attend a gridiron matchup.  well, no surprise here.. i arrive with my family to DKR.  big, bodacious, intimidating... and yet, quite, desperate, uncomfortable, and awkward.  yes, TEXAS may have just lost an important matchup, this could have been somewhat expected. however, there was a hidden and yet unexpected element... was i truly inspired here.. and did i really have any fun while visiting TEXAS?

young TEXAS recruit john burt, committed to TEXAS at just the right time.  a somewhat shy, reserved, and yet extremely gifted and articulate young man from florida.  in spite of all of the ongoing negative national headlines throughout, pertaining to coach strong's terminations / suspensions as per TEXAS players.  john burt, still came through and committed.  i was simply stunned!  not because young burt had committed, but because of the fashion in which he committed to TEXAS.  so much courage and strength, this young man swam against the negative tide of the bad headlines... and committed to coach strong based upon his principles.  "he just knew that this is where he wanted to be".  his smile and overall demeanor throughout those interviews, were indeed heartfelt.  you just could not help but feel for this particular young recruit.  john burt, made TEXAS proud.

john burt's commitment is currently within a state of jeopardy.  this endearing recruit, was hereby invited to attend last saturday's gridiron matchup at auburn university.  oh my, imagine that.  yes auburn, a university that is currently steered upon the forward moving turnstile.  a very serious source to be reckoned with within the all powerful sec.  a neighbor to alabama, a region vs vicinity... where football, is currently king.  auburn, has it all.  great fan support, that actually shows up to support their team throughout each gridiron matchup.  an absolutely great head coach in gus malzahn, a coach, that has simply no problem with inspiring the overall fun approach to football as per his fine tuned football team.  a coach that likes to have fun by involving any and all (including great alternative uniforms) to inspire and elevate his teams to greatness.  just an absolute great environment to showcase the game of football. now, our committed young recruit john burt, has become smitten by all that is the auburn tigers.  how does TEXAS compete to offer inspiration and to solidify burt's recruitment... facilities, no.  TEXAS, facilities have become a laughingstock as per great proportions.  a complete embarrassment.  inspirational TEXAS football... no.  if john burt, was anyway near to being inspired as per the current TEXAS football program, he wouldn't become so smitten as per auburn, to be rethinking his verbal commitment to TEXAS.  great TEXAS coaching staff... no, obviously not.  imo, john burt is really enamored with coach strong as well as les koening, however, this current team's performance speaks volumes.  TEXAS vs auburn?  are you kidding?  john burt is a smart recruit.  he has family that is hereby employed within the ranks of the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS.  john knows that TEXAS, is indeed the essential, upon basically everything that is imaginable regarding education, location, resources, you name it.  and yet, john has hereby become a bit in love with auburn.  why?  because auburn university, has indeed become larger than life... upon all aspects, and whether he really knows it or not... this is really who john burt is...

coach charlie strong, is indeed a god fearing and sincere man.  however, coach strong shall now have to lose the huge chip that has been aligned upon his well crafted shoulders.  coach strong, shall need to start placing the I IN INSPIRATION!  when all else fails, inspire!  coach strong, simply cannot afford to start losing great recruits to the likes of auburn and so forth.  these young gifted and great recruits, simply do not grow upon trees!  not to mention, should john burt decide to renounce his commitment to the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS, you had better believe that there shall be a domino effect throughout.  i for one, sincerely believe that john burt really loves TEXAS. however, i also believe that john could very well envision his much heralded talents upon a higher plateau.  TEXAS, is hereby poised to rebound upon quite significant fashion.  from what we are now hearing, facilities, are going to become unparalleled.  TEXAS, game day experience, shall become a whole new showcase.  once all of these key accoutrements are locked in place... the football team shall have no excuse but to follow suit.  all we need at this most solemn point, is inspiration.

Hey, it happens. Auburn isn't Texas, I've seen that campus. But it's not a bad place to spend four years.

That's said, the kid will either come or he won't. Either way doesn't mean Charlie has done something wrong. We'll simply replace the kid with another solid recruit.

Kids sometimes change their minds. Charlie doesn't need to do anything but be Charlie in the face of that.

Monarch, your post is nonsense. You do realize that Burt committed to Texas while Strong has been the head coach, right? The fact is that Strong is doing what he can with what was left to him.

what?  oh please lukus, what kind of ridiculous query is this?  isn't it quite evident that john burt committed to coach strong during his helm as head coach?  what on earth or you talking about?  talk about nonsense... indeed!

Monarch, take this crap to Orangebloods.
with all due respects your judgeship... i am a member of the great OB, as well as several other members upon this site.  please trust me, they already have quite a few of these types of truthful (non sunshine pumping threads).  however, thank you kind sir.  i shall be happy to mention to ketchum, that you are hereby recruiting material as per his gargantuan membership.

You should really re-read your posts before you post them.  Lukus addressed precisely what your original post was ranting about.  Yet, once again, you feel the need to play the martyr and cry persecution.  Please, just put a sock in it.  Your rants are becoming more and more ridiculous-if that's even possible.

Your constant negative posts and threads are getting tired.
your constant biblical admonishments are what's completely tired!  i created a thread pointing out the threat of TEXAS losing it's valued and great recruits, which is something i feel very strongly about.  first off, i get a very nasty response as per the judgeship.  and yet, i did not see a mention from our so called mod lukus... stating to the honorable, anything regarding his directly over the top statement to me!  therefore, please keep your admonishments to yourself, until your constant bias ceases.... what kind of a mod are you....

I thought it was STPs MO to get the last word in? Gotta rethink that idea.
