I saw this on another free site (SpursTalk) and it shows the current breakdown of who we have and what position they are. I must admit looking at the QB situation has me a tad worried but maybe the reports of Heard moving back have some validity? Anyway I thought this was interesting and good work by the author.

I like the core of the defensive unit coming back. The OL received a lot of experience under fire and should be better for it.

Regarding RB depth, I wonder how many of the players on scholarship have played RB? Texas should be able to recruit at RB easily this signing season. That roster is begging for guys that have the ambition to get in the mix for playing time right away.

Does anybody see Buechele maintaining his job? Especially if the QB run plays as big a part in Herman's Texas offense as it did at UH. The QB takes a beating in that system.

Agree. Would be nice to pick up a couple of running backs in this year's haul.

I also just realized we have no field goal kicker for next year. Maybe in a pinch we get one from the women's soccer team?  I like the attitude of this one!

Remember Ohio State won the championship with Cardelle jones who they played over Braxton Miller.

Jones wasnt exactly a plus athlete. I think the reports of Herman wanting an athlete at QB is over blown.

I still think Kyle Allen is coming to UT to add some depth and experience

It would appear that WR is the clear strength of the team by position group.

Our numbers are good for OL LB CB and DT. . . each position needs to continue to develop players.

S & DE along with RB and QB is thin so the desire to take 2 of RB/QB is clear this year.

Clearly we need a PK. . . .

Keep in mind that chart has already accounted for Kai Locksley and Tristan Houston's transfers.   But 5 more would not shock me. . . .

He is better than your realize as he is currently playing for Buffalo Bills.  Cardale was much bigger, and had much better arm strenght that gave them more options for their offense.

I didnt say anything about his ability to play QB i said he wasnt a plus athlete meaning he is lamar or greg ward or jt barret.

My thoughts in general . . . 

DE is stacked. Lots to like about this position for the future. I hope Hagar puts on more weight, especially lower body.

Lil Jordan Humphrey played TB in high school and was a beast when used as a pass catcher coming out of the backfield. This is what Herman likes in his offense. Humphrey is made for it. Just very unusual to see 6'4 at that position. But he's a demon with the ball in his hands. Hopefully Herman remembers the carnage Humphrey left behind in Southlake's district.

TE will need to be addressed. 

QB and RB are indeed alarming. Its been covered well, above.

There are at least three on the chart who are said to be seeking transfer. Not a Herman thing, just a playing time thing. I'm sure there are others.

Quality and depth on the OL is exciting. I'm anxious to see how things play out with some redshirts now in the mix.

DL . . we're okay here, depth wise. But we need a home run recruit. Someone who will be a force, an AA kind of player. We should take one if we get a chance at one. Paging Marvin Wilson.

You are going to lose some very winnable games every season if you don't have at least an "average" place kicker.
