The annual Texas Orange & White Spring Game took place today and yielded a large recruiting dividend for head Coach Charlie Strong in the form of Converse Judson's Keivon Ramsey (6-1, 175 lbs.).  Ramsey, a hard-hitting cornerback for the Rockets, picked up his offer from Texas on April 3 and pulled the trigger on it as the Spring game culminated in Austin.  Texas Longhorns Head Coach Charlie Strong acknowledged the commitment via twitter:

Ramsey, a 3-star prospect, held offers from Big 12 schools Oklahoma and Baylor as well as Oregon State and UT-San Antonio.  Ramsey joins Rockwall-Heath safety Deshon Elliott as the second defensive back commit in the 2015 class.

At 6'1" and only 170 pounds, he could easily grow into a safety - especially the way he looks for contact.

Huff was not anywhere near as physical as Ramsey but he was twice the athlete.
Yea, Huff was all speed in HS. Mack was in love with speed at the time. Huff was a diamond in the rough though. Akina made a great one out of him.

I'm from Irving so I saw Huff play a lot and my best friend's dad was his position coach. The head coach didn't like Huff because of a perceived aversion to contact. He torpedoed his recruitment and tried to downplay Huff. My friend's dad called Hardee McCrary and told him he wouldn't be sorry if they took Huff.
