Cole Pittman Memorial (Highway Cross)

Short story with a happy ending here. Hornsports.com poster Java brought to our attention the fact that the cross that Cole Pittman's father placed on the side of the road where his accident took place was recently destroyed by construction crews (as you can see in the attached picture). Java asked if anyone was able to contact a member of Pittman's family to inform him of the issue.

Hornsports quickly contacted Chance Mock, who gave us the contact info of the person in charge of the Cole Pittman Tournament. Within an hour, Matt Trissel and Stevie Lee (former Texas football players) were involved and found a way to contact Pittman's dad. Cole's father indicated that he will put up a metal cross in its place.

Special Thanks to Java for bringing this to attention so this could be taken care of ASAP.

Thank you so much for the follow-up.  Whenever I drove down that stretch of highway, it was a poignant reminder of the love that Cole and his father shared.  I had the privilege of seeing them together several times.
