To get a pulse on what him and the coaches are discussing as far as competing on two deep vs redshirting his freshman year.  As you can imagine, he is excited and ready to go compete for a spot.

"If I'm ready then I'll be competing but if not then I'll be more than happy to help out the team as much as possible."

"No matter what I'm helping this program in any way possible."

As far as where he will play (center, guard, etc) he told me it will be based on the need at the time.

"To be honest it is wherever they need me the most.  So I'll be prepared for all that comes my way."

This young man hasn't played a down yet for the Texas Longhorns...but he clearly already bleeds orange.

Thanks for this post, AC.

Thank you, Aaron. Appreciate the information. Please keep it coming. The off season really leaves me (us?) gasping.

One of my picks for stars of this class. In 4 years, Vahe will be one of the guys that everybody is talking about from the 2015 group.

Pat's the same guy in every interview we have done with him.  He's the epitome of a team player but knows he won't let an opposing player give him the business.

Adding to what Cotcher said, he will be a fan favorite at Texas because he is honed-in and the consummate team player.

I believe he could have started on our line last year.  I really like him.

How serious was his shoulder surgery & and is he recovering OK?

Pat told me his shoulder feels great but he is limited on what he can do in workouts, etc.

He is smart to listen to doctors and trainers. It would be very costly to reinjure the shoulder. OTOH, he should heal quickly campared to someone even slightly older. It pays huge dividends to be in great shape and to be young, in addition. Vahe will be stronger and in a much better position in short order.

Great attitude, btw.

Can you check in with some of the early enrollees that might contribute in the Spring game and August?  I think there is some potential there we would all like to follow.
