Blue blood programs

Are we really a blue blood program? And if not what needs to happen for us to become one?

— Twitter API (@twitterapi) November 7, 2011

What's your definition of "blue blood?" A program that never ever ever has a couple of rebuilding years? Then no program is always a blue blood program. Notre Dame went through down years not so long ago. Michigan is just coming out of their rut. We are currently trying to climb out of ours. Those are the 3 winningest programs in CFB history. Hell, Alabama was a laughingstock a couple of years before Saban got there.

I think we are a blue blood program because the term "program" implies long term, historically speaking, not who's hot at a specific cross section in time.

Are we one of the best teams right now? No.

Are we a top program? Absolutely. I just got back from Costa Rica. Yesterday, I wore a burnt orange polo with a small Longhorns logo. And several Costa Ricans recognized that as being from Texas. That kind of recognition is part of what makes us a blue blood CFB program

Honestly, I don't know why some people aren't more pissed off for 1971-2004 than they are for 2006-2015.

How about 2010-2014? We were set to go, or should have been, if our coaches hadn't been trying to finish up recruiting to hit the golf course or take a nap. That's what really ticks me off.

Hook 'em!
