MIDSEASON ALL-AMERICA—Perfect Game/Rawlings announced its Midseason All-America teams on Wednesday and 2B Kody Clemens was named to the first team…the Longhorns have not had an end-of-season first team All-American since Corey Knebel in 2011… Clemens went 0-for-5 last Tuesday night (3/27), snapping his 26-game reached base streak and his nine-game hitting streak, but has amassed a five-game streak since…the junior has opened the 2018 campaign on a tear…he began 2018 with a 13-game hit streak, the longest for a Longhorn since Madison Carter’s 15-game streak in 2014…Clemens has amassed 25 walks to 18 Ks on the season, is 4-for-5 in stolen bases, and holds a team-best 1.150 OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage)…he hit his 8th homer of the year on Tuesday at Whataburger Field, setting a new career-high after hitting 5 in 54 games last season…his .679 SLG and 25 walks rank 2nd in the Big 12.

GO DJ, THAT’S MY DJ—After the first five attempted stolen bases against him were successful, junior catcher DJ Petrinsky has caught 8-of-11 since, improving his caught stealing percentage to 50% for the season.

BREAK OUT MCGUIRE—In his first start since April 22, 2014, Andy McGuire had a breakout game last Friday at K-State…the redshirt-junior went deep for his first career home run in his first at-bat…he’d add two more hits in the game and finished with 3 RBI…on Saturday, he added another 3-RBI game that included a bases-loaded double to pull Texas to within one…McGuire also moved from RF to the mound with two outs in the 8th and tossed 1.1 perfect innings for his second save.

Top 3

Wendzel- Hard single into LF. Baylor hitters are sitting dead red on Kingham's fastball right now

Downey- Double down the first base line. 2nd and 3rd with nobody out.

That is it for Kingham. Wow. Matt Whelan enters in from the bullpen

Haring- Walk

Bases loaded

Bissonette- Groundball back to Whalen, who throws home for the force out. 1 away and bases still loaded

Raguse- Groundball back up the midddle. Unbelievable 6-4-3 double play after Hamilton fields the grounder and flips to Clemens at 2nd.

No damage done. Still 4-0

Bottom 3

Ellis- Groundball off the pitchers leg for an infield single

Petrinsky- 2-run home run to LF. Wind helped that one big time, but the Longhorns will take it.

4-2 Baylor
