Article - Focal Point

valid point imo. JB and JG status are iffy and MB has had some injury issues. If Bergeron gets right and Gray gets healthy, we're all good. Big ifs as of today.

Very good points and questions in the article.

We really need Bergeron to make it back.  I'd rather have Gray take a shirt year, but I'm not sure that will happen.

Brown can be the guy, but like you said he does have an injury history.

Let's hope we get the most out of what we have.

Well done write up. . .

The opposite of a Lucas Movie review ..  .

:P

I'm never a worst-case scenario type, but it's scary to think that the Horns could be dependent on a true freshman without it being a huge stretch.

I never liked the movie "Lucas". Sheen was ok, but the scene where the nerd somehow gets put into the game on the last play and is wide open for a potential game winning touchdown would never happen in real life.

Another great article.  I think we have to plan as if Bergeron and Johnson will not be available ... if either or both ARE available, all the better.  I also think that we should expect Gray to redshirt ... again, if he can play, all the better, but do not play him at seventy percent.  That means that Overstreet has to step up, and we need to be able to get something out of Foreman and Catalon.  Do not count on anything from question marks until you see the production.  This is a rebuilding year of sorts.  Let's get the Strong Regime off on the right foot.

I have a lot of questions about if overstreet will ever be able to play a serious role. You can't just take a guy who's never played running back before and expect him to be great. It's a different world.

Good point Mike and I would take it even further...  Overstreet is so much an "athlete" that it almost hurts him in the fact that there is no place for him to play consistent snaps at.  The RB position is deep (JO is a 4th stringer here) and he won't get QB snaps, despite playing QB at Tatum HS.  He was very close to being moved to safety under Mack Brown and this is a classic case where versatility is almost detrimental to consistent playing time.  He's a classic athlete but he is in a tough spot.  Hopefully Charlie Strong can find a way to use him more than not because I watched him play in HS and he was nothing short of amazing.
