Longhorn Doc, I'm assuming you aren't well versed regarding realignment here is a few corrections:
1) As for as the LHN. Texas didn't get $350MM in profits. Close to $250MM not counting expenses over 20 years.
2) LHN is money losing proposition for ESPN. Without their support t.u. would be in the biggest financial boondoggle in collegiate history. The Aggies would have lost their ass as well had they joined in the venture initially proposed by Dodds. Also it was said to not be an even split (no surprise !)
3) t.u. unilaterally plotted the break-up of the B12. NOONE gave you the authority to negotiate our destination nor OU'S, TT's OSU's or CU's. You never asked if we wanted to go to PAC and when we found out about your plan your president refused to discuss it with our President Loftin. As you put it we did speak to the SEC without your knowledge. Of course we did, you were forcing us into a situation we wanted no part of. We had to find options as our BOR instructed. You think we'd talk this over with you guys?
4) as a result of your actions nobody trusts your institution and everyone who could leave left, leaving you in the situation you find yourself in.
5) you will soon see that out Tier 1,2,3 rights will be worth more than yours and will dwarf the rest of the B12.
6) Only after the PAC told you to pound sand with respect to LHN did you decide to come back to "save" the B12.
One day Dodds threatened the Aggies with losing their spot in the PAC merger if we didn't join within 72 hours, within a week after the snub from the PAC, Dodds had the balls to state" it was always our first preference to remain in the Big 12". What an unmitigated LIAR and con man.
I truly hope you are as happy with your conference situation. I know we are, but something tells me that if you are on an Aggie board defending it, you don't sound happy to us. Lastly, consider this, If the Aggies or Sooners tried to take you to another conference without you input, came up with own network, making a conference network impossible and limiting your $. Refused to discuss it with you, threatend you to make a quick decision, Oh yeah! also threatened you with losing the oldest rivalry in the state if you didn't do exactly as we asked, would you hang around or seek greener pastures. We know the correct answer in advance.
