#21 Texas vs. #17 Okie Lite weekend series

Practice and non conference games are where to find starting lineup. Also to have pitching worked out. Not conference games.

Need Witt back soon. We only have 2 starting pitchers that can go multiple innings.
I just don’t see Witt pitching many, (if any,) meaningful innings this season.

A team that lost the production that Texas did from last year shouldn’t have high expectations.  So far, this Texas team is ahead of what I expected.  I can see Texas hosting a regional as it is going right now.  Tech and OkSt are two of the toughest in the conference and Texas swept one of them.  I will be surprised if Texas loses another conference series.

Every one loses production, good teams just reload. Hope you are not surprised.

Look at the amount of production lost though.  Just losing Melendez is of Titanic proportions.  You say they just reload, but it’s with largely unproven talent.  That’s what Texas is doing this year.

Agree Horns lost a lot of talent! Thats is where coaching comes in. Recruit or portal keepyour team strong.p

cI am sure years ago USC lost talent each year, but dominated baseball. Gorilla ball had several years run atLSU.. Building ateamshould be much easier today money and portal.

Insight on his status?
He is ahead of schedule from everything I’ve heard. That said, I don’t see him being pushed into long-term action. I could be completely wrong here, but someone that will no doubt be drafted, I just don’t see a heavy workload right out of the chute of recovery.
