2026 – Which player emerges to big time this year?

Captain Obvious here. Manning will be in NY at the end of the year. Will he win the Heisman? Don't know but he will be in the conversation. I need to think about D.

Volantis starter or closer -- you choose and why

I'm going to disagree with you here. I think finding a closer should be one of your top priorities. If you have 2 good starters and set up men and a closer, you can win 2 out of 3 most of the time. That could mean if your best closer is one of your top 3 starters, even your best starter, you put...

Texas visits Houston for a mid week game

Just to play devil's advocate, I know this might be frustrating to us fans, but you have to find out now who you can depend on in your bullpen for later. Game situation is completely different from practice/simulated game. You can't develop players until you see what they can or can't do in...

    Sweet 16 – #11 Longhorns vs #2 Purdue

I consider this a successful first season for Miller. They've gone farther in the tournament than I thought they would.

maybe I'm just an old timer, but I don't get it. Why would you do something like that?

    Spring Football 2026

I agree that a lot of schools will become more of a "minor league" system. Unless it's a small P4 team, I'm just worried about the level of competition.

    Spring Football 2026

I believe we have every chance to be better than last year in all offensive categories. The main question mark for me is the O-Line. I'm a little concerned with linebacker because of what we've lost. But then I like an aggressive D that Muschamp will bring over Coach K's bend but don't break D.

    Spring Football 2026

Not so fast my friend. Sorry if I'm a little skeptical, but getting linemen from some non P4 schools doesn't really instill a lot of confidence in me. Sure, they could have developed in their 3-4 years of playing and become a P4 starter but I'm not convinced until I see it. That's a big step up...

Volantis starter or closer -- you choose and why

If he wants to be a starter and the coaches agree he could be a good one, then let him give it a try. The jury is still out whether he can be the #3 starter. He doesn't consistently get passed the 6th inning. But he is young and can get stronger. When it comes to the playoffs you need 5...

    Non-SEC Football

Isn't this how it is now without the contracts? The player thinks they can get more money and opts out (hits the portal). Fair market value is subjective. I'm sure the player always think they are worth more. Just wondering, if they have multi-year contracts for "fair market" value and the...

Longevity wise, he should stick to baseball. He will last longer and make more $$. He should pick the sport he loves the best. He could be like Mike and play football until he can't and then try and pick up baseball. He should at least be able to make it in the minors.

    Staff Changes

A Bend but don't Break defense relies too much on the offense making a mistake to put them behind the chains or bad passes. It also relies on having a good pass rush. Top teams like those in the playoffs will usually have the discipline to avoid pre-snap penalties and a good O-line to protect...

    Non-SEC Football

If you can't hang with the big boys, then you gotta game the system to at least make it look like you can. How many playoff worthy teams are going to get "bumped" because of teams' cream puff schedules. 🤔 I know, let's have a 32 team play-off system. That'll take care of the problem.

Holy Smokes!!! Tech over aggie. :ROFLMAO: I mean in my mind there is a huge drop off between Texas and Tech, like the Grand Canyon type drop off.

    2026 PORTAL

Sark made the comment about not taking back players that enter the portal a couple of years ago. I think things have changed since then especially with NIL. You have to adapt or you'll lose out. I think you have to let the players go test the waters to see what is realistic and they can come...

    2026 PORTAL

Don't forget we have a new D coordinator. Maybe the LBs leaving aren't the type coach Boom wants.

    2026 PORTAL

My crystal ball tells me that if State Legislatures get involved, we may see a "minor league" of smaller schools in the state that can feed into State schools or at least State schools get first crack.

So far all they have been able to do is buy a conference title. A conference slightly above the ACC. Wake me up when they win a play-off game.
