Vokietaitis is only a soph and should stay in college to develop. Whether it is at Texas is unknown in Today's age of the portal and tampering.
With Vokietaitis (7 foot, athletic, physical center who can score and hit free throws), I believe the risk is that another college gives him an offer he can't refuse.... not the NBA. Swain has played himself into the 1st round of the NBA Draft conversation.

I saw on $ec Now that in the 2nd half, Texas scored on 25 of their 27 possessions. That is an amazing stat!

I agree with Cody getting a game ball for stepping up big when needed.
I really like what Codie brought against misery. His bio says he was the #1 ranked HS player in Texas by 247. This is the first time I have seen him play all year. Has he been injured... or is he just down a bit on the depth chart?

He's played in several games, and I don't recall him being injured. I believe it may be because he's listed as the #3 big man behind V and Traore. Personally, I'd like to see more of him.

He hasn't played since November I think. Got himself a little attitude and Miller wouldn't put up with it. Seems like he's back down to earth now.

He was starting at the beginning of the season and played his way to the bench.

Texas up on LSU 48-33 at the half. Texas is shooting 63% from the field.

Everybody is looking good. Hard to single any one player out right now.

Texas gets their 5th consecutive conference win tonight over LSU, 88-85.

Game was much closer than it should have been. Texas went cold midway into the 2nd half and let LSU back in the game after leading at one point by 17.

Swain had a double double. Pope had 19 pts.

The Aussie for LSU was lights out most of the night. It seemed like no one on the Texas team could guard him.

Texas' next opponent, Georgia, beat Kentucky tonight on the road. We'll see them in Athens.

Then we host Florida, which we'll lose by 15-20. lol. Then on the road to aggy, then to Arkansas which we'll likely lose by 10. And then we get OU in Austin. We just need one more win.

There were 2 fouls on Texas (one being the 2nd foul on Swain) where the LSU players just lost their balance. In fairness, LSU had one called on them that was a Texas player (Pope I believe) losing his. They also called a foul on one of the LSU's bigs but the replay showed it should of been an offensive foul on V.

Speaking of Swain, I know he's our best player but he has to pass the ball more. There were several times last night (especially in the 2nd half) were he was doubled or tripled team and he forced a bad shot or turned it over.

As you stated, the 2nd half was ugly however it was still a win. I don't think we can play that way against better teams and walk out with a W. And yes, the Aussie from LSU was on fire the 2nd half.

Alabama beats Arkansas in double OT. Arkansas missed an uncontested dunk with seconds remaining which would have tied the game for a 3rd OT.

Missouri is killing #20 Vandy. Vandy having a hard time with a taller team.

Game time for our game with Georgia is 2:30 p.m. today. Televised on the SEC Network

Georgia came out red hot. They've pushed the Texas offense almost to half court and Texas is not taking advantage of the space.

6:10 left in the 1st

Georgia 31, Texas 15

Texas pulls to within 10 at the half. Georgia 45, Texas 35

Texas got within 8 pts toward the end of half.

Hats off to Nic Codie. He's not scoring much but is playing solid defense.

Georgia wins 91-80. Texas drops to 17-10 and will now return home to take on probably final four team Florida.

Texas tied the game but then had three straight costly turnovers which allowed Georgia to take advantage and get their lead back.

Texas splits the season series with the Bulldogs at 1-1.
