Camp starts tomorrow!

Lots of story lines, position battles, preparation, etc. to keep track of.

What is your favorite story coming into this camp?

Mine might be the RB room. I'm anxious to see Clark and Baxter back in action.

I truly believe that the offense's ability to produce will depend on the line. Talent is there, but experience is TBD.

And we start with Ohio State. OSU has some similar issues. New faces everywhere, including at QB.

Too bad we don't get to start out with a weaker opponent.

Last year we played Michigan early in the season, and the horns had way fewer issues then michigan, so we won easily.

Granted that was the second game vs the first game this year, but the point is that if the horns are better prepared, and have fewer issues to resolve, then the early game can be an advantage.

I have been envious in years past of those teams that play marquee game early in the season and play like there was no layoff from the prior season. Hoping this is the Horns year to be that team.

OTF had a number of things to list from today's practice . . (paraphrased)

– Newcomers had some trouble with the tempo of today's practice.

– Christian Clark has moved ahead of Gibson.

– Wisner and Baxter are taking the co-No. 1 reps.

– Transfer Mathrew Caldwell had a good practice, but is running behind Trey Owens at the moment. Still, he got off on the right foot today.

– Andre Cojoe and Brandon Baker are having a real battle for the RT spot.

– Kibble and Stroh both worked the backup center spots today, behind Robertson, Cruz

– Lance Jackson and Justiss Terry both played DT and DE today.

– Spencer Shannon took the lion's share of the 1st team reps. Endries looks the part though.

Burton on the new punter:

- Last year, we would have graded the punting unit a D or so. With the new punter, Texas has a chance to get a A or A+. More distance, significantly more hang time. It is literally like the difference between daylight and dark. Texas now has a punter with an NFL caliber leg.

- Both Kade Phillips and Jonah Williams were held out. Steve Sarkisian said in his post practice availability that both had hamstring tweaks that they are monitoring.
