I thought Maalik would have landed at a bigger program. However he should start there and really show off that big arm. Definitely good luck to him.

Perhaps coaches prefer to take players out of the portal that can make significant contributions immediately. Maalik could very well become an excellent QB, but he's still a development project from what I saw. Regardless, good luck to him and thanks for helping to win some games.

I think a middle-of-the-road P5 is a good fit for him.

Hopefully he plays a lot and plays well.

Unfortunately for Maalik, big-time programs aren't rushing to the portal to grab QBs with little to no experience.

True, he was highly recruited and has the arm to be a good one for sure. Thought a west coast team was goin to grab him, but he will get a chance to shine.

I guess all we have is two more games. Seems like Texas is done in the portal (got the 3 guys they were going after) and mostly done with HS (Alex Foster being the only realistic late pickup).

It's gonna suck after the NC game.

One last thing on Malik....I really like the guy. However.....He has been at Texas for 2 full years....or is it three? Anyway, if he is still considered a project after all that time working with Sark, maybe he just doesnt have it. He has a huge arm, but after all this time still needs work?...I am happy for him that he will maybe get a chance to play, but at the same time I am happy he will no longer clog our roster.
