*****GAME THREAD: Texas vs. #1 LSU*****

Well this sucks! We lose to LSU 3-0.  Andre D. Throws a fastball down the middle of the plate and gives up the 3 run homerun. Stuart walks 2 to start the top of the 9th prior to Andre  D. coming in.

We held our own with them til the top of the 9th.

Pitching was good for 8 innings, D was good all game, sadly Kennedy was the only threat in the lineup tonight.

So far seems like pitching staff can be pretty good. D has been iffy but really offense has been struggling. If we can find a way to plate some runs we will be alright.

Agreed. The pitching staff had something like 16 strikeouts as a whole; while only giving up 4 hits. The late walks hurt us, but wondering if the offensive timeouts messed with Stuart's mindset.

Really need Cambell, Daly, and O'Dowd to start hitting. I'm good with Brown due to him having 4 homeruns in 8 games, but he does seem to be a all or nothing type hitter.

I might've started Burke in the top of the 9th then gone to Stuart. Oh well onto this weekend at Cal-State Fullerton for three. Then back for Sam Houston and Mercer next Tuesday and Wednesday before Manhatten for the weekend. In fact other than this weekend we are home for most of the month of March.

Hopefully getting the offense and defense worked out with this pitching during this time.

Thanks for the updates yall. I was checking last night via my phone and was really hoping we would beat LSU. I have a feeling this is going to be a long year. ?

Pretty tough competition to start the year, especially with so many new faces out there. Hopefully a few easier games/series can help us figure out how to best utilize the guys on the roster going forward.

We should be the team that other teams fear.
I mean, ideally we would be an overly dominant #1 all the time but that's not realistic. I am just pointing out we have played 3 top 10 teams so far and 4 other games against power 5 conference teams. It hasn't been a cupcake opening month.
