Jan 28, 2023; Knoxville, Tennessee, USA; Texas Longhorns guard Marcus Carr (5) brings the ball up court against the Tennessee Volunteers during the second half at Thompson-Boling Arena. Mandatory Credit: Randy Sartin-USA TODAY SportsThe Texas Longhorns (17-4, 6-2 Big 12) held steady at #10 in the newly released AP Top 25 Men's Basketball Poll released Monday, despite an 11 point loss to Rick Barnes' now #2 Tennesse Volunteers on Saturday.
Texas welcomes a surging Baylor team that has won 12 of their last 13 games against the Longhorns. Baylor is is 6-1 in Austin since 2016.
While the Longhorns sit in a 3-way tie for first place in the Big 12 (along with Iowa State and Kansas State), the Bears are close behind in a tie for second along with the jayhawks and Horned Frogs. A win tonight at the Moody Center would stifle a red-hot Baylor team and keep the Longhorns in the co-driver's seat for a regular-season first place finish.
