*****Game Thread: #22 Texas Longhorns vs. Iowa State Cyclones*****

I really can’t say enough about Roschon. Short on the 3rd down and he fought and got the 1st down. We would have had to punt. I’m going to miss him. Not many kids would have went to running back when they needed him. Just a heck of a team player.

Side note: It wasn’t good of Campbell at the end of the game to say “Shut the F up bit$&” It was on camera at the end. I don’t know who he was holler at but I just like my head coach to show more class. I know he was hot because he thought it was targeting but I think it wasn’t.
Anyway we won Bit$& ????

Amazing how in some mind defensively we have to fire everyone. Geez let this team learn how to win. Culture is shifting, teams don’t always click every Saturday. They need to learn how to win these types of games.
Got that right.

Anyone else here old enough to watch Texas get down to Baylor & TCU in the fall of 1970 before the guys realized they better wake up & play the ball game?

Yep, that really happened.

Ugly as W but team showed adversity in the 4th. If Texas doesn’t do something is secondary OSU gonna light is up next week
We are lucky they called it a fumble on the field.  Had they not, Texas liars that game.  A game Texas should win by 3 TDs

We did not play well. Our heads were not in this one. But to win a game that you should, despite a bad day at the office, is a good thing. We've lost those games too many times in the past.

The fumble was crucial as I don't know that we could stop ISU.

This was not one of PK/Patterson's better efforts.

In addition to that, I can remember some games from 1963 and 1969 national championship teams that weren't pretty, but it was a win. ?

Our defensive scheme was bad all game.  Sometimes we made plays due to better athleticism.  Better athletes look average when in bad schemes.   I’d say 80% of the game the back 7 was out of position on 2nd and long as well as 3rd and long.  The front 4 is damn good against the run and squeezing the pocket, but can’t get home for a sack to save their lives.  When the back end had decent coverage they managed a sack.  PK is not earning his pay yet in my book

You shouldn’t, just stay in the fire the whole defensive staff routine. That isn’t the solution btw……
If he can’t adjust, HE should be let go. I never said them, as a matter of fact I defended their technique against bad scheme.  So don’t put words in my mouth, asshole

Firing PK and\or Gideon’s and Joseph isn’t the solution. This team is 5~2, and playing better than it has in years. Is there still work to do ? Yes, and lots of coaching will come out of this game. This team just won a game that in previous years it would have lost. Keep your name calling down to a minimum, I have read most of your post in here.
