ESPN is announcing that when Texas & OU join the SEC, the 6 conference foes per year model is gaining favor with 3 permanent opponents.

If so, who would our permanent opponents be?  I think they would most definitely be OU and A&M.  Now for the third?

I would prefer LSU for recruiting reasons, but would we be stuck with Arkansas?

Your thoughts?

OU, A$M and Ark. would be my guess. May depend on opoents for Ark. and LSU ang how they fit.

If up to A$Mwouldbe OU, Arkie and LSU.

This was posted a while back. I suspect the schedule will end up very close to this.

I think this is about right - as said above, instead of Arky maybe LSU but all depends on the other dominoes.

Interesting to look at OU - really the only natural SEC rival is us. For their sake, hopefully the can continue a yearly OSU match up. Aside from that, really no major history of rivalry that jumps out.

I do guess they have played Missouri 96 times due to their time in the Big 8 and then Big 12 together. They even have a trophy for the winner of the game - a Peace Pipe.

They have played Florida a total of 2 times.

TX and Misery are the 2 obvious match ups for 0u. Misery has a similar issue.

We have way more history with Arky, wouldn't mind LSU.

I have wondered how they will determine the match ups. Does the league pick based on maximizing revenue? Do the bigger revenue schools call most of the shots? Once a proposal is presented and some schools don't like it , do they try to iterate, which would likely make some other schools unhappy?

OU, Arkie and LSU and no aggy because aggy will do whatever it takes to not play us every year.

FWIW - In the article Sark said he prefer playing OU and a$m every year. Jumbo said he preferred to play LSU and Texas every year..

I'm old, therefore I like Arky.  Before they bolted to the SEC they were, arguably, our #1 rival.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we have to play Mizzou. Don’t sleep on them being a permanent opponent

We always seem to match up well against them, or at least did at one time.

Missouri doesn’t make sense, but then, they don’t have to.

They just don't have many true SEC rivals yet. They'd love to not travel to South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida every year. They have a bigger history with us and OU than anyone in the SEC east. Plus travel is less to ATX than Columbia, SC.

Plus Texas would probably rather play Mizzou than LSU for the easier game.
