But can he play football in college?
With that combination of size and speed, YES!
This is how hard it would be to coach him.
“when those guys on offense lineup you stand right outside of the last guy with his hand on the ground. When the ball moves you run around that guy, chase down whoever has the ball and knock them down.”

That kid in a college strength program could easily be 265 and faster than 85 to 90% of the skill kids. He’s a freak

IT wrote this morning that nothing has changed after Manning's visit to Tuscaloosa, and it was a short visit for the family as they stayed less than 24 hours.

IT even hinted that Alabama should be pushing harder for Holstein, so don't get worked up over the post below.

Agreed. So tired of the "silent" hype nonsense. They're not committed until they announce and we've been burned too many times.
On the other hand the staff needs to manage the limited number of spots.

It's always feels good when the staff secures a new commitment,  but many of the guys that we are hoping to get are in no rush.  Remember last year how frustrated we were with the lack of Oline committments until very late in the cycle? It sounds like we are in a good position with lots of top recruits and there is no reason to doubt this staff's ability to land another awesome recruiting class

In my opinion Georgia is our only real competition. Saban normally can get who he wants but I believe Bill O’Brien hurts them with Manning. The majority of NFL guys he coached hated him. The Manning’s will know him better than your average family.

An On3 Alabama mod on Manning...

"I think it's Texas by a good margin right now...'

I found this in regards to the On3 RPM, https://www.on3.com/news/on3-releases-recruiting-prediction-machine-rpm/

It's a cool concept, and the accuracy will improve overtime as it relies on machine learning which needs lots of prior data to start making good predictions. Overall, I just think recruiting is too complex for any algorithm to really get a good grasp on.

In this example, the algorithm is giving Bama a boost based on the official visit. Though, all the humans watching this recruitment play out are thinking that the visit was essentially inconsequential.

@TFloss32, help me out here. How hard is the staff working on Jalen Hale?  It's weird that we seem to be after a 5* from FL, but the other wrs are 4*s in TX and not Hale. What am I missing here.

We have lost out on 3 5*s, granted glad to miss out on Demas; however, Stewart and and a guy out of our backyard? The last couple of years and now possibly another one?

Granted i like Gresthouse, Cook, Pettiway?, and one more, but shouldn't that be Hale? Or is Brown out of FL better?
For whatever reason, Hale has not been receptive to Texas. Its not because we haven't dialed his number or stopped by to visit. He just isn't interested in Texas.

IMO, he's the best WR prospect out there so its really too bad we can't get him to look our way.

Yep, I wanted to post it because I know some see it and think it's noteworthy.

I'm sure they'll get it worked out, but it's not reliable right now.

Coleman didn't do a great job, in general, when he was at Texas and it put the staff behind on several guys.

Combine that with Hale not reciprocating a lot of interest and it leads to where the relationship is at right now.

His recruitment is one I'm not paying much attention to, unless Manning commits and then we start hearing about more guys wanting in the class.

So far the " big weekend"  hasn't been. But like tfloss posted yesterday, maybe tonight or tomorrow.

Bijan is just ripped. Owens could stand some time in the weight room.

Not so fast my friend.

Machine Learning can help predict the basic cases but it won't be able to predict the random/quirky world of recruiting without direct input from the recruit. And that ain't happening. Plus, I would never trust anything a recruit entered into a recruiting survey if they are planning a "big" reveal.

I am told we have very good reason to feel good about 5-star Jalen Brown out of Miami. He already has two return trips planned and that's before he ever takes an official visit here. We struck a chord with him and his family.
I hope you're right. I'm waiting til the ink is dry on this one. If Cristobal wants him really bad, it's going to take a lot to pluck him from Miami's backyard.
