I can understand aggy on list. Remember they get to put two more national championships on the wall at kyle field. One for Georgia; the other for recruiting. Wonder how they are going to show that.

When it comes to that stuff, I never underestimate aggy. And you're right. They are insufferable.
For me, success starts with defense and aggy lost some players there. But it ultimately comes down to your offense, specifically QB. They get a transfer and another young incomer to battle it out. The transfer is learning a new system.
Can they get the kind of QB play from a newbie that would get them to #2. I'm betting no.
Its funny how Calzeda couldn't wait to get out of there. lol

I'm thinking Kiffin won't like it one damn bit if Evans benches himself again with a game on the line. Whether he has character or not.
What did Gary Patterson bench him for? He didn’t bench himself at TCU that I’m aware of.

A customer/friend of mine is one who rubs shoulders with the BMDs at TCU. His family has big time history there.
He told me that Evans did not respond well to some correction/criticism GP gave during the UT game. Thats what motivated the tap-out. Once that happened, he was dead to GP.

Agreed, but we kind of had the same situation with ours transferring out and an inexperienced QB coming in. I was surprised because of the progress and improvement Calzeda showed in the last few games of the season after looking terrible in the early games.

Yes, his improvement was pretty obvious after starting out so horrible against Colorado.
Haynes King is a gutty little guy, but he's not even in Ewers zip code as far as talent, ceiling, etc goes.
And whatever prediction I have for Texas has to be tempered by the fact that Ewers still hasn't taken a meaningful snap yet. Same as Aggy.
Calzeda left because he hated the place and the HC. Jimbo berated him all season.
Thompson left because he saw the writing on the wall with Ewers.

Don't forget King is returning. He was the starter before the injury. I think that is the main reason for such a high ranking. Regardless it's aggy and they'll end 4th in their division...

King played one game against a cupcake team. Nobody learned anything about him there.
I'm not sold on him. He's got the grit and the leadership abilities, he just lacks certain things.

King was not a top 50 prospect. He was indeed a 4-star, but most didn't understand why. He can run but he doesn't pass like a Manziel.

I completely agree...I actually thought he was overrated coming out of high school. He had a great junior year but he also threw the ball to Longview's all time leading receiver. His numbers dropped his senior year...

This has got to stop. I realize this isn't a political thread but, our govt needs to do more to stop this epidemic. Declare war on the cartels and warn the Chinese who manufacture this poison that it will be deemed an act of war if more comes into the country. Unfortunately our current administration doesn't have the backbone for this.
