2 things. 
 

1. I was wrong. Very wrong. That was a great Ty Madden performance! Sorry I doubted saving him for tomorrow. 
 

2. that hit was huge for Kennedy’s confidence! If he gets going in the 9 spot, this offense is completely different!

In the 5th when Antico lead off and had a 3-2 on him, that pitch he took for a "strike" was right above the chalk line of the batter's box. Which was costly because Daly ended up walking which would have put men on 1st & 2nd with no outs. The only problem was our #3, 4 & 5 hitters (Zubia, Melendez & Williams) were 0fer for the game.

I tend to view this thru a different lens. Meat of the order didn’t do much last night, but the 9-hole guy went 2/3 and had two RBIs. Antico had an RBI, Zubia had an RBI and Daly went 2/3. 
When your #9 guy steps up and the team is able to plate runs on a night when the heart of the order struggles, that shows that this team is not solely dependent on the big sticks. This indicates a pretty deep lineup. 
And yes, Blue’s zone was suspect throughout the game. It was mostly tight early on and seemingly widened later in the game. I’ve pretty much resigned myself to the idea that by and large college umpires are inconsistent at best.

NC St just took a 3-2 lead over Arky in T9

Hogs fall to NC St, 3-2, and will not be making the trip to Omaha.  Best team in the country most of the season has an epic collapse in Fayetteville.
