Texas/Big 12 Hoops thread

Baylor had their game with OU cancelled. Lucky OU.

Texas vs OSU tomorrow at 2 p.m.

Horns certainly didn't help themselves today. We're in a funk.

WV beat KU pretty bad. I think part of our hype was based off that KU win by 25 or whatever. Turns out, KU just isn't good.

It's Baylor and then everybody else in the Big 12.

Agreed, though he doesn't have to throw a tantrum like that. I think we've seen more emotion from Shaka this season, but the team could always use more.

#12 Texas hosts #13 W. Virginia Saturday at 2 pm

#15 Texas Tech visits #22 Kansas at 1pm Saturday.

Okie State against #2 Baylor has been postponed

K-State visits TCU at 4 p.m. Saturday

#9 OU visits Iowa State at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Not Big 12 related, but, #6 Houston just lost to Wichita State 68-63

Without fail, every time I watch Texas Hoops we blow a lead. Yesterday, it was 19 points - at home - to WVU. My apologies. I've just gotta tune 'em out until the NCAA Tourney. ?

IT apparently reporting that a coaching change is "more likely than not" at this time. I'll believe it when I see it.

So, apparently there are two names being discussed. The first one is John Beilein. I know he's been a successful coach and there would be fans of this hire, but I'm a hard pass on this one.

The other name is more interesting: Royal Ivey. After playing in the NBA for 10 years, he's been an NBA assistant coach since 2014. He's well-regarded in coaching circles and was sought after before joining the Nets this season. Apparently the former UT players are very vocal for his hire. Also, he's a Longhorn and bleeds the burnt orange. Personally, I'm all in on hiring ivey. I really hope it happens.

Yeah, unless some BMDs start caring and open their checkbooks, Beard isn't happening. Even then, they'd have to deal with a bidding war led by some oil and gas brothers from West Texas.
