I would defer to @swaha on the current status, but last I heard we were very much in it. The visit he took here was a very good one. Aggy, OU are the big opposition for him.
Burris also didn't make it to the aggy Super Bowl event right before the shutdown.  Think Ash is playing a big part in this one as well.

Class is starting to look good.  Wiltfong thinks we are in a good spot with Ibraheem and making things interesting with Harmon.  WR seems a concern atm, and we are going to have to sweat out the Brockermeyer's recruitment.  Would be nice to get back in with Byrd and Foster.  Need to get them Arizona OL on campus at some point.
Totally agree with you.  Wish the Brock's would just shut it down and be a part of this class.  I guess I'm just not concerned at the WR position.  I still think the Horns have a great, young WR room for the next couple of years.  If a stud WR wants in then you take him, but don't sweat it and hit it hard in 22 to replenish the room.

I'm a bit pessimistic about the Brockermeyer's. It just doesn't seem to go well when it's a legacy or a players states that Texas is a dream school

We're in a good spot with the Brockemeyers right now. When the year began, the family had seen UT countless times. So there really wasn't anything new for them. They got out, saw some different schools. Most of that is wearing off although Bama is still right in the thick of this.

Most of the chatter of late that Bama has a pretty big lead....Plus some close to them have said they are not big fans of Herman. Not sure if true but it seems to be said a lot.

I’m just starting to pay attention to recruiting 2021.  Just for conversation sake - who is on your “wish list?” And a bonus question - who do you think will commit next?

Brockermeyer's will be the difference in a real good to great class and a really great class to elite/championship level haul.

Burris shares very little information . You get bits and pieces from different people. I have not heard that Texas is out of it with Burris. The last school that I heard mentioned was OU, and that was from two different people.

Thomas and Burris are not an either/or situation. Far from it. Burris is destined for DT while Thomas will likely stay outside.

I want Burris pretty bad. He's the quiet monster in the middle, very disruptive. And we need to get plugged into Pleasant Grove. Lots of talent there.

Same with Thomas. This was a regional battle between Texas, LSU and aggy. Texas won this one in a place (golden triangle) where we need all the wins we can get.
Texas just needs to continue to build upon the already established relationships with the PG staff. After this 2021 group leaves, there is still some D1 talent coming. They are just young at this point.

Class numbers for 2021 have been mentioned on this thread several times without a really clear answer. I do remember hearing that this class would be a "full" class previously but agree with those who say this class will likely be a bit smaller.

According to the roster table on Inside Texas (https://insidetexas.com/football/football.php?pg=fb_roster) all 85 scholarships are used up going into the 2020 season (this table doesn't include Tarik Black or Jadhae Barron so I think a few former walk-ons will lose schollies). Including Tarik Black, there will be 12 seniors graduating and opening up scholarship spots. Of the juniors, we could see several go to the NFL early (probably 3-4 max) - Sam Cosmi, Joseph Ossai, Caden Sterns, Jalen Green, Brennan Eagles as potential candidates. Add in 3-4 transfer/retirements and that leaves 20 max scholarships to fill be in coming recruits. Anything over 20 would mean pretty significant attrition. Thoughts?
