***Series Thread: Louisiana Lafayette vs Texas***

Horns take the lead in B5 after a missed call by Blue allows Hamilton a stolen base.  He's knocked in by Clemens with an RBI single with 2 outs.

Horns take a 2-1 lead into the 6th inning

 
T6, Shugart allows a 2-out single, the proceeds to pick off Kasuls at 1B with a sweet move. 

Horns up 2-1 headed B6

 
B6

Zubia gets his first hit as a Longhorn with a 2-out slap into LF

Reynolds follows with a walk

Duke Ellis cue-balls a dribbler down 3B line to get the easy force out at 3B to end the frame

Thru 6 complete, Horns up 2-1

 
Shugart gets the first two outs of T7, his day is done

FR Bryce Elder in and gets the 3rd out with 3 pitches

Headed B7, Horns up 2-1

Everybody Stretch!

 
Hibbeler reaches on an E6 and is promptly CS.

Horns get a 2-out single from Clemens but can't do anything with it

Thru 7, Horns up 2-1

 
Elder looking very comfortable and somewhat dominant on the hill.

Gets a 1-2-3 8th and the Horns look for some insurance runs here in B8

 
Horns doen't add anything in B8

Ridgeway comes out for T9, nursing a 2-1 lead

 
Ridgeway jumps ahead of the leadoff guy 0-2, then hits him.

Several poor fundamental plays allow the Cajuns to go small ball and push across two in T9 and take a 3-2 lead

Texas needs some baserunners here in B9

 
Also at least 3 players fell hopping other the dugout fence to celebrate. May need to work on that!

Helluva shot by Todd, and even better was the no-quit in this team after the T9 debacle. 

 
Very early; but this team is demonstrating some “got something.”  

Starting pitching has been spectacular; 2B, SS, LF are nails!  Rough game for the closer! 

It is early in the season and past my bedtime.  You can fill in the names, right??

They learned a little bit about their mettle today. And at a perfect time in the season. 

 
It’s way way early but an encouraging start. Winning those close ones makes all the difference in the world. Now for the sweep!
