This damned kitchenaide ad keeps coming on and if fills the right and left side of the screen. It covers names and avitars on the left side and about 3 words on the right side. It makes this site un useable. What can be done about it?

Thanks

I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser, and have AdBlock Plus & uBlock Origin as my two ad-blockers.  I have zero ads on any HornSports pages.

My first suggestion would be to put that on your system.

My second (and more fun) suggestion would be to tell your wife to stop browsing for kitchen appliances on your computer.

Report back.

Third option is to cut a deal with KitchenAid. You'll buy their damn food processor if their IT guys will wipe their shit from your computer.

Well someone took one for the team and must have bought something cause the ads are gone!

ABP and uBlock in Chrome for me.  Never have any issues with ads.

Oldhorn, like Joewa, I use Mozilla Firefox [Waterfox, the 64 bit version] with Ublock.  However, I do not us Adblocker because some websites, not Hornsports, demand that adblockers be turned off to view content.  For whatever reason, turning Adblocker off and leaving Ublock running works well enough for me.  Also, on Fireffox for whatever reason, when people include twitter references in their posts, no content or anything linkable shows up in the the twitter quote box.  Because of this, I usually use Chrome to view this website.

I have found that in an older version of Firefox, you could click the "i" button on the address bar and it will tell you that some items are blocked due to secure connection.  I would have to click the button that said something like "allow blocked items" and then the Twitter stuff would show up.  Firefox fixed this in a recent update and now I don't have any issues and don't have to click anything for the tweets to show up.

Having these ads pop up is absolute crap. The mods and this site should not allow this. Total horseshit.
Big reach assuming that the mods have anything to do with the ads on this site.  It's likely a board programming issue or a browser issue.  I've let Aaron know and I'll tell you what he says.

I hope I'm missing the sarcasm here. As it's been stated we've notified Aaron about the issue and it's being worked on. None of the mods here are responsible for ads issue.

Would also like to state that I use both the mobile and desktop version of the site practically every day and haven't had an issue.

Joewa,  I am glad to know that you found a solution to this that worked for you.  I always keep my software up to date.  I did not have this problem originally because I was using an old version of Firefox.  I just eventually used Chrome, no problem.  Though, since I have to change browsers to visit this site, I do not visit here as often as I once did.

I will add, however, that a year or so ago, I had this problem with the inability to access twitter content that is cited by posters when I was using Firefox, Waterfox, in my case.  I brought it up in a post, and no one on the board responded in any way that was of any help. That is not unusual to my thinking ... there is a pretty small sample of folks that frequent this website.  After a while, after not finding any solution to this problem myself.  I emailed one of the mods, Aaron, I think it was, and never received a response, so I assume the issue was never looked into, at least not to the level that warranted a response to me.  I have had to use multiple browsers for various reasons in the past, and when I found that Chrome presented the twitter content as intended, I never looked back.  Frankly, twitter content is usually not worth the effort of pursuing if you cannot see it because of your browser.

I am retired.  I probably have more time than most folks to spend on the web, but for the life of me, I cannot imagine how anyone could afford to spend any productive time on tweeter ... but then again, I am officially an Olden Farte, so pardon me if I digress ...  Steige aus meinem Rasen!   ;)

I apologize for not knowing that this was something the Mods had any control over.

The mobile version of this site sucks. Donkey dong.

And I think Aaron has been working on that too. About six months.

More than several.

Promised I would.
I can't speak for Aaron, but I know the technical stuff on the backend takes time to get worked out. I know for fact he is trying to overhaul some things.

Trust me I'd rather the issues be fixed instead of having to field complaints over things I can't personally control.

Hey Daniel, peace in the mid-east. What can you do about that? huh?
