Like most of you , my hopes for this season have already been dashed and with a top 10 Baylor team coming to DKR this Saturday I just am not that excited about this game. I don't see us winning this game and if we did then it would just piss me off. Talk about Jeckyll and Hyde, but honestly I would be more mad than happy. I am heading to Austin this weekend but not really planning to watch this game as I think Baylor will kill us and this Coaching staff has just beat the hope and excitement right out of me this season. The truth is a victory by us scares me as I fear Perrin and others would use that victory to keep pushing the narrative to give Charlie more time to get things turned around. Man , talk about your Prozac moments!
I am just not excited to play Baylor now!

What is the under / over on yards we will surrender on Saturday; 575? I can see us giving up 500 yards & 45 points against Baylor and having a consensus that we are moving in the right direction.

You know.... I'm not so sure they will kill us. We do play much better at home; and I do NOT believe Baylor is top ten.
They have a weak run defense which lines up against our greatest strength (running the ball). I actually smell a possible upset. But then again, I thought we would beat KState. Not much credibility any more.
I hear you mctmatt.... long term health of the program could possibly be better with an L on Saturday.... if a W meant that we would stay on the current path. But I bet you watch and root for a victory.... you can't help yourself!

Honestly, this is a great post. I think you pretty much captured my thoughts and ,I suspect,many others as well.What is eating me up right now is that I am at the point where I dont think it matters anymore. Win- lose...it just doesnt matter. I ought to take the gas pipe for even thinking that way, but I cant help it. You are correct. I bet I do root for a victory, but no joy is left.

I'll always root for a Longhorn W but I've stopped planning my weekend around kick-off which is a disappointing feeling.
Joel Klatt was on The Ticket the other day saying he thought this was a really weird game because "what does UT do if they win?" I honestly don't think it matters at this point. Given the line on this game, it's clear that many people don't know what to make of Baylor yet (i.e., they may be as equally overrated as we were early in the season). A win on Saturday won't change my opinion on the direction of the program. We beat OU last year, we beat Baylor last year - we've been able to generally get up for the big games. It's the consistency against the inferior opponents, the poor fundamentals, the STUPID offensive penalties putting us behind the chains that I've seen enough of and have lost faith that it can change under Strong, regardless of the outcome Saturday.

I may be ready for a new coach, but I'm still heading down to Austin to cheer on my Horns for a win. Nothing will ever change that.

I havent expected us to win since the OU loss however i expect us too win this one.

I would love to win the game but I just don't see it. The positive however it will be the final nail for Strong....

We've been talking about the final nail in the coffin for sometime. That's why I want strong fired now. Every week that goes by I get more concerned that he won't be fired. I see no downside to getting rid of him now. If we do so at the end of the season then there is no advantage to doing it now. The advantage is I will sleep better at night.

I think Perrin will let the season play out and keep saying that after the season he will sit down with Coach Strong and do a complete evaluation of the overall program as they do every year. That is why a victory over Baylor has me concerned as I can see Perrin saying he saw a lot of positve towards the end of the season and feels that no change is needed.

The evaluation of Strong is complete. The only meeting left to do is when he is fired which will be right after the TCU game.

Hard to say but I do think he has been told that 8-4 in the minimum expectation. Also some others said that Strong told the team Monday that "we' have to win out. So that would align with that thought.
