Its not that UT isn't an elite national power that bothers me, its the fact that the baseball program may not be in the top 4 in the state of Texas anymore despite the magic trick pulled off last year.  Augie has been well compensated in his time at UT and I do appreciate the hard work he has put in to the program, but its time for a change and those who can't see that are the same that thought Mack Brown never should have been removed from his post.

The college baseball landscape has changed in the state of Texas and the program's leadership needs to be younger and more vibrant than the current coaching staff and atomsphere IMO.

 
yep. it is a well known fact that old guys forget how to coach.

not a fact but plenty of evidence that they lose a bit off their fastball as time passes. Me personally? I'm learning the knuckleball.
Doing that (learning the knuckleball) considerably extended the career of Charlie Hough...pitcher for the Texas Rangers circa 1986.
