Game 2 - Texas vs OU (Recap & post-game added)

We're halfway home - I'm guessing from y'all's activity that last night's loss is hanging heavy.

B5th

Shaw - pops up a bunt attempt, F3

Gurwitz - grounds weakly to mound, 1-3, 2 outs

Baker - standup double down LF line, runner on 2B with 2 down

Marlow - pops up a mile high and Aikin calls off the infield, F8 ends inning

All even still as we go to the T6th, 1-1.

T6th

Aikin - leadoff single through hole on right side

Hermelyn - K swinging for 1 out, runner on 1B

Neuse - K swinging and Cantu guns down Aikin's SB attempt

Strike 'em out, throw 'em out double play for the Horns.

Going to B6th in a tie ballgame, 1-1.

B6th

Johnson - first pitch swinging....again. weak grounder goes 6-3 for out #1.

Cantu - BB

Boswell - RBI triple to RCF scores Cantu, runner to 3B, 1 out

Horns up 2-1

I'm here Matt.  Just walked in and sat down.

Liking the way this one has shaped up here in B6.

Would love to see Gurwitz get a base knock here.

And there it is!  RBI single back up the middle with a 1-2 count for Zane!

Texas 4

ou 1

B6th cont'd

Barrera - RBI single through left side on first pitch he sees scores Cantu, runner on 1B, 1 out

<wild pitch advances Barrera to 2B>

Hinojosa - K swinging, 2 out

Shaw - full count then BB, runners at 1B & 2B, 2 outs

Gurwitz - RBi single back through the box scores Barrera, runners on 1B & 2B, 2 outs

OU pulls Hansen for Ralph Garza, Jr.

Texas up 4-1

Ralph Garza Jr. is from New Braunfels.  He likes to go tubing at the Rockin' R and his favorite meal is the chopped beef sammy combo at NB Smokehouse.

Clemens has given them 6 solid innings. I'm not sure I'd bring him back out here. He's been stronger later in the game, but UT doesn't want to let OU back in.

Spieth is tearing it up.  He's now at -18 with a birdie at 16.  Kid is on fire!

Got here late to watch this one and what a pleasant surprise!

Joeywa has his game thread wizardry going and the Horns have a very nice 4-1 lead on the lowly land thieves!!!

I won't say anything to jinx this mojo other than GO HORNS!!!

Wow, I don't I have ever seen a catcher throw on his knees and get a runner out on 2nd base.  Cantu rocks!!!

I've said it before, but Cantu is going to be a very special player on The 40.   Take note.
