Only one if rings true to me, IF Swoopes is the starter next year then its going to be another painful season.  Ill be surprised if Heard isnt the starter by game 3 after Swoopes shows everyone AGAIN he doesnt have it.

I say bring Conner in.  Why not?  If we can waste a spot on Swoopes then take a gamble on Conner.

Swoopes does not belong in the QB equation. if he is, we are either in terrible shape at QB, or we need a new QB coach. Swoopes proved he was awful against Baylor and showed little to no improvement throughout the season. For every good thing he did, he did two things bad.

i know everybody loves to hate Swoopes but just wanted to give a little perspective. last year as a true SO he completed 58% and had a TD/int ratio of 13/11. VY in his RS FR year, surrounded by a better supporting cast, was 58% and a td/int ratio of 6/7.

no, i don't think swoopes is in the same universe as VY and won't become what VY did. that's not the point. i think the team's suckage is projected more on swoopes than it should be. hopefully Heard is all he's supposed to but yeah, i'd just soon have Swoopes as my #2 than a 4th string reject from zona.

Is that one on the left available as a grad transfer? Looks like she has a good arm, and could easily distract our opponents next season. Of course would also distract our team as well.
I assume that is Brewer's sister who is/was a swimmer at UT?

java, I have an autographed (by VY) picture of Vince Young running into the end zone against USC for the winning TD

to achieve the 2005 NC, in the Rose Bowl. I paid a lot for that autographed picture (hope it was a legit autograph). It hangs

on my wall and celebrates a NC by UT Football. Don't know if the signature is legit, but I admire it just the same!

Before that NC season, the team held a summer intrasquad scrimmage followed by an autograph session. My dad and I got there late, so I ended up waiting six hours in line, but SO worth it. Ended up with a small UT football signed by VY and Mack and my Texas t-shirt signed by those two plus many other members of the team.

Funnily enough, I was looking at it the other day because I remembered seeing Jordan Shipley there, and sure enough, he's in there. Also remembered that Colt was a RS that year, and also sure enough, he signed the shirt too. It's definitely my prize possession.

I have one of the 'Texas License Plates' signed by most of the team. I need to look at the signatures again, but I know Cory, Chris, and Vince signed it, as well as Dak and Huff. It has over 50 on it. I haven't ever counted all of the signatures.

It looks like Brewer is the only or best choice if we want a grad transfer QB for the spring. Brewer's offers from South Carolina and Florida shows that.  Spurrier and McElwain know offense. McElwain offered Brewer a scholarship when he was an OC with Alabama. My question is if there is a chance anyone else will become available?

I'm glad were going to the spread, it will be easier for the QBs to learn. Hopefully, easier to learn and perform and we can take advantage of the running ability of our QBs.

Next honest question....why is it possible that Brewer could mature/have a light come on, but the same isn't said of Swoopes?

See this has been my train of thought. Two years ago Boykin was a joke to everyone including TCU fans. Swoopes threw out some stinkers last year but he had some great games too. He had the most passing yards in a RRS than any UT QB ever if I'm not mistaken. He just seems to panic when things are falling apart and with our Oline last year even Vince would have had bad games.

I'm not saying he is the answer just yet and I would love to see how Heard does after Spring ball, but to say he has reached the full mark of his potential at 19 is just weird.

Shambeaux, I do not have the qualifications to dispute what you say with regard to quarterbacks; however, I have been involved in testing reaction times for other endeavors. On those tests, reaction times stayed relatively static over time. They do, of course, deteriorate with age.

That is my problem with Swoopes, his processing time, followed by his reaction time. I agree he will improve over time, but to what degree? Now, Swoopes must learn a new offense, and it does sound as if it will be new for him. Did his high school run any type of HuNH when he was the QB?

Heard sounds as if he has a much higher upside. Add to the fact that he did run a HUNH in high school, and there appears to be a great deal of potential. Brewer was Harsin's handpicked QB, after Harsin had installed the Boise offense at his high school. That always sounded promising. Maybe not, but it certainly sounded good.
