2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

I'm looking forward to looking at the 2016 recruiting thread---gonna see whats on the go there

Just saw the Kris Boyd tweet from last night. Good news. In a way I envy the kid. How many of us would love the chance to seriously mindf**k aggy the way he has been able to do? They slow played him, used him as a backup plan and only offered his brother as a last ditch hail mary. He probably has a huge ax to grind. I think he realized yesterday that it was starting to affect his Texas crowd and was time to come clean. I didnt like the drama...but I understand. Screw aggy every chance you get.

Much as it sucks - it makes sense on Mack.  Kid was committed there forever prior to the de-commit.  Too bad for us - while I like Lampkin and think he's a fine recruit, Mack is a whole other level prospect.

Looks like tomorrow we (hopefully) finish up with Warren and a couple of the late offer kids, and possibly Newsome?

IT might make sense in that way but something clearly happened.  I'm not saying he got paid or anything but one day he was solid to Texas and then suddenly his mind is made up and he's a Rube.

If I was aggy I would not want to be perceived as the leader for Mack. These kids love to make a splash on social media and will want to on NSD. What better way than to do the unexpected? If everybody thinks aggy and he signs with aggy its good for them and him but kinda ho hum. Much bigger splash if they go totally different direction. Like Malik wearing the different clothes everyday and Texas was his last set to wear. These kids love to "bury the lead" as they say in the news business. Not saying Mack is still considering us because I have no idea but i would be looking away from the smoke with some of these kids.

If the Mack rumblings are true, we'll see two players commit, de-commit, and re-commit in the same cycle (Burt and Mack). I'm not sure I've seen such a thing before - usually a decommit is a pretty big hurdle to overcome.

That said, if Mack wants to go over to that nothingness of a defense more power to him. The UT class looks filthy on the defensive side of the ball and with the Locksley news it's not looking too shabby on offense either. CFS has put together a great class with or without Mack.

My best guess is that we will develop a new format for 2016 recruiting

This thread,as great as it is, slowly evolved into a sort of a catch-all for nearly everything

Giant threads with a bunch of graphics tend to slow the servers, and create "other issues"

To alleviate all that, I suspect it will probably be broken down in some fashion in the future

As with all things, we will see

Mack was solid to Aggie for a year - and solid to Texas for one week.   I think the euphoria of that 'Super Friends' weekend in Austin with Mack, Soso, Malik, Kai, Charles O, Lampkin, Deshon, etc... finally wore off - and a couple of kids who had spent a year being comfortable with another program went back to what was familiar to them.

No hard-feelings, its to be expected.

Much as I hate to say - I will say it again.  Do not sell aggy short.  Including the last two classes, aggy has stockpiled some serious talent on defense.  If they get Mack, whom I think is every bit as good as our M. Brown was, they will have completed the final piece to a formidable defensive group.

They have never lacked for talent, they have just lacked for competent coaching.  And to be clear, Sumlin is like Mack Brown - he is not a nuts and bolts coach - he just sets the goals and the atmosphere.

Anyone else confused by the Mack situation over the last couple of days. There was a ton of smoke about him coming to the 40 acres with TCU being the biggest competitor. Then all of a sudden late yesterday and this morning, its being reported as a done deal he's going to aggy.

This thread needs to die.  It deserves to limp through NSD, but the 'catch-all' nature of it made it nearly impossible to follow if you wanted recruiting news.  At some point it turned into a 'chat session' rather than a recruiting thread.

No criticism, I've loved it and made a metric crap-ton of OT posts in it, but if people (me) want to chat they need to start an OT thread rather than in the 2016 recruit thread.

I feel the same way if he goes their. No hard feelings.

Just find it odd he loved his visit and would get to play along side guys he made excellent friendships with. Then, all of a sudden, he's back on the aggy bandwagon. Just odd. Doesn't pass the smell test to me.

I too wish someone could explain it. My guess is it was Kyler Murray.

Yep, having Mack in our hands then losing him is tough.  He is a beast.  I hate the idea they might get it together on defense.

In any event, although this is tough to say, we needed a QB even more and got one.  A 4-star dual-threat with a dad who not only is also a coach but a college OC

Kai + Warren > Mack

And that is my official position

Seems he would want to ball with his buddies on the defensive side of the field (Malik) vs jumping on board due to an offensive player who he can only watch from the sidelines. At least that's how I would roll.
