2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

That is a cool thing.  Begs the question, why don't more Fort Worth players get recruited?  Is the FWISD low on students?
That is a very good question. I think an even better question is – when was the last time a FW school went anywhere in the playoffs?

Darius White was from FW. Haven't heard from him since his transfer.

Yuch!  I always understood sawmill gravy has sawdust in it as a thickener.  At least my Tyler born grandpappy told me this.  He said times were tough back then
Actually what I call sawmill Gravy is gravy with crumbled sausage in it. That way they could stretch it out further than giving everybody a patty

Higs says soso does not like our RB depth and that he is leaning toward UCLA at the moment. Hopefully his family can convince him to stay.

Higs says our rb depth chart is bothering soso. We have to many backs

Mack is wavering but in constant communicating with us
That snippet on Mack just doesn't make sense. He went to the trouble to have his whole family, and I mean extended family, involved in the final decision via meeting.

He's going to go through all that all over again?

And he's now a wet noodle and can't figure anything out?

I just don't buy that.

Here's where I go back to – the visits.

At aggy, he had a good time but was disappointed in what he saw in the locker room and the defensive performance in general. Even one of us could go to an aggy game and have a good time. So there's that, in contrast to:

At Austin, he was reportedly smiling from ear to ear the entire time he was here. Dude had a great time and was fired up about Texas when he left.

I think that tells the story.

This is sort of interesting --

In a Q&A chat, Higs was asked about Locksley's offense in high school as compared to Heard's and whether it might be cause him to be behind like it seemed to be with Heard's

Higs said pointed out Locksley's dad is a coach so he has been around and seen alot of college-level stuff already.  Higs says he has a high football IQ and will come in knowing more than Heard did.  But he did not stop there.  He also suggested Heard has some maturity issues he has to work on.  He needs to grow

He also said that QB Wilson, who we looked at last night, wont happen
It doesn't surprise me that some Texas high school kids have maturity issues. I am going to elaborate, please skip this if you are so inclined.

Unless a kid is a reallly good student, there is a possibility that at some point they have benefitted from retesting, if they score below a 70 on a test. Ironically, there is no limit to the number of times they can retest. Some schools take it even further and allow kids to 'correct' or redo assignments that they fail.

If that doesn't teach a lack of accountability, I don't know what does. They get to college, and suddenly, they can't have 'overs'. Say what? It must be a rude awakening. I have actually had a few parents look at tests that I give, and refuse to let their kids retest. They feel it sends the wrong message. I agree. I give fair tests, and I also provide a review of the test (for them to work on their own time). Many don't want to do it, unless I grade it, even though they know that the test will be very similar.

Don't get me wrong, I have some excellent students, but many students are just lazy, and the statutes have set them up to fail. It is a travesty. They practically force a teacher to pass every student in high school, then they want to encourage all of them to go to college. If they want them to go to college, lawmakers and education agencys should allow students to develop the tools to succeed.

It is frustrating.

(edited: I apologize for leaving out some letters. This is an area that I confront each day, and it is infuriating.)

My standpoint on Soso and Mack, is nobody really has a clue. Both are too closed off for anyone to really have a clue. It's why you see predictions across the board.

As for Warren and Locksley, I'm pretty sure they will both be Horns. The FSU mods seemed to concede today that Locksley was most likely headed to Texas.

Can recruits call the coaches during the dead period? If it is true that Mack is wavering then it's a very bad sign if there is no contact.

SoSo and Mack out per Higdon. They've reportedly already informed the coaches. Life goes on....Who's next to sign up?

I am reading all of this information on Texas recruits now now wavering.  My question is, what has changed from the "high" of their last OV visit?  I'm not buying all of this. For one, I dont see Strong being caught off guard.  I would like to think that he has told these guys that if they are going else where, then he needs to know.  I just don't think Strong wakes up on NSD wondering who is coming to Texas.

Secondly, these guys running these sites are business people.  They have bills to pay as well they have to provide for their family.  If there is not any drama, then there are less clicks and also less potential subscribers.

I want these guys here like everyone else but if they don't come, then at least we will have guys that want to be Longhorns.  Remember there are no guarantees and these recruits have yet to prove a thing on he field.

Looks like Kai, Warren, and whatever Strong can grab at the last minute. Likely top 10 class but not the monster class many were hoping/expecting.

My goodness, we didn't do this back when I graduated in '87

That's ridiculous. How does a kid flunk out unless he just flat refuses to do any work?

I'm not sure I'm even going to another site until at least Tuesday night. They're creating a circus.
