2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

As my first post on this site, I want to throw this summary out and see what you guys think. As it stands right now, I understand we have 15 solid commitments plus Merrick as a grey shirt, Davis and Burt as soft commits, Major as a potential grades casualty, and six early enrollees. Assuming I haven’t missed something we have 10 openings in limbo right now.

Since the remaining 10 scholarships need to be allocated somewhat by position, I sorted the known possibilities by position and added a few amateur comments:

QB Locksley Maybe our highest priority.    We need at least 1, plus Merrick.
DB Boyd, Hill, Baker, Redwine, Davis    We need at least 3.
RB Warren, Brossette, Jamabo      We need at least 1.
WR Reed, Burt  Reed’s GPA is iffy.   We need at least 1.
OL Major High priority if he qualifies. 1.

If we get the 7 we need from this group, we’ll have 3 more slots available for wild cards:

Murray/Mack/Lodge        I suspect we get all 3 or none.

The wild card guys would either fill out our class or leave us with 3 rides available for Merrick, some as yet unknown OL, or an extra take from the position list (RB?). The possibility of Murray coming in some unconventional way could make 1 more scholarship available.

Do my numbers add up?
First of all, welcome to the site.

......

QB - It's all or nothing on this one. But if Texas don't get either Murray or Locksley I still think they'll be "alright" with what they already have.

DB - See Texas getting no more than two of those.

RB - See Texas getting "at least" one. But, they'll be alright with what they already have if they get none of those.

WR - Burt has come out and said recently that he's a Texas commit. Everyone knows how that goes though but him saying he's a commit is a positive. Reed's grades are a question, but it's my understanding that they will be ok by end of semester... assuming he handles his business. Don't think Norvel would be all-in on him if he didn't think Reed would be ok.

OL - Vahe will be a game changer but how soon is the question. Major's grades working out would be huge and give Wickline extra to work with.

..........

Again, thanks for joining.

apparently there is a Bruticus but not a Burticus

Can't really call yourself a FSU commit when you're saying stuff like that.

First of all, welcome to the site.
And thank you for the response. I'm just trying to organize my celebration schedule.

As for the site, it seems members here are much more civil and much less pompous than I've seen elsewhere. You guys really do a good job. I'm still going to pull for that 3rd CB, though!
