Counting Down to Google Fiber

[Duke C #11]

I just got confirmation that Google Fiber will be connecting to houses in my neighborhood starting on my birthday, April 23rd!!! 1 GB internet speed for $70/month. Add cable TV plus 2TB DVR for $60 more. So long, Time Warner!!!

Lucky! I am on the outskirts of Austin (Avery Ranch), so it is going to be a while before I can even even sign up.

I hate TW! Their speed has gotten better, but the service still sucks.

I'd move to Austin for Fiber alone. Not even kidding. I'm hoping that DFW will see it soon. Meanwhile, the wife and I are talking about getting a very nice apartment that just so happens to also have the worst cable contract you could imagine.

I hear ya. Being an entrepreneur that works with technology, I rely on a very fast and stable internet connection. While TW has decent speed (300/20) it is not so stable and most certainly not a gig.

I'm stuck in Houston. You lucky bastards!
