This is exactly what I didn't .like to see from us on 2nd and 1. When you spread out the 3-4 defense the biggest weakness for them now becomes right up the middle. What did we do try to run a damn zone instead of ISO hat on hat right at them.
Always good my man...Your last sentence about it may be time to adjust the playbook to accommodate the depth chart...

If they play at the same level as last week( let's hope they don't), I would incorporate the quick kick.

Hard to say because I'm not at practice or watching the film, but with inexperienced offensive lines you have to keep the play calling fairly simple. I also understand the caution Wat and Wick are using by not really letting Swoopes run the ball, but Texas has great Running Backs and Swoopes is 6'4'' 243lbs.
Back in the day when teams found they had stellar backs and not so stellar blockers they invented some plays that eventually evolved into an offense called the "triple option". When reading defenders you don't have to block them which allows an offense to gain the advantage in the box. Also with the way Swoopes was throwing the quick game you can use the "hitch reads" to keep the secondary honest. Basically... I'd really like to see Texas start to run more of what BYU was running.

Great stuff, Coleman. I, too, think the BYU offense would work perfectly for us. If you look at the BYU OLine, they also were somewhat inexperienced, though not nearly as much as ours. But even with their deficiencies, they were able to move the ball and eventually work a very good Texas defense. Let's hope we see some good change this week.
