ESPN released an updated version of their preseason Big 12 conference power rankings and the Longhorns come in at No. 4 on the list.

Texas Longhorns
Texas beat Texas Tech and TCU last season by a combined score of 71-23. With backup Case McCoy at quarterback. Even though the Longhorns have QB concerns again, they still get the nod over their former Southwest Conference rivals. Despite Charlie Strong's preseason purge, Texas remains solid across the board elsewhere. If David Ash can stay healthy and play up to his potential with consistency, the Longhorns could become a player in the Big 12 title race in Strong's maiden season in Austin.

Oklahoma is the top team, followed by Baylor and then Kansas State at No. 3.

We have things to prove on the field.  It's not a surprise to anyone, especially Strong.  For some reason, I think he will have the team in the best possible position.  It's going to be exciting.

Hook 'em!

Doesn't seem like an unfair ranking at all. Oklahoma looks stout, Baylor won the Big XII last year and lost very little during the off-season. The only team I'd complain about would be K-State. But given they have a penchant for surprising people, I'd almost choose to hold my tongue on that as well.

Both Horns and ou have QB questions.

Can we keep our guy healthy all season?

Is ou's Qb real, or was he a one bowl game flash in the pan? (32 of 44 for 348 yards w. 4 TDs v. Bama)

I would probably rank Baylor first.  After that its tough to say.  Need to actually see teams play.
