Kacy Clemens pitched in his 1st outing on Sunday night. This was his 1st outing since the spring of '13..

Clemens came in for relief and went 1 full inning, gave up 3 hits and 1 run..

This past weekend I ran into Skip Johnson at a tournament.. He was looking at 3 prospect...

While I understand Kacy is talented in many baseball positions, I prefer him at first.
He was a pretty good pitcher from what I understand prior to his injury.  Pitching depth does not hurt, so if he's able to get back to the bump, I'm OK with it.  I also don't think it will significantly limit his time at 1B this season.

maybe he'll turn into a poor-man's brooks kieschnick. that wouldn't suck.

He is a damn good fielder but he has to hit much better to be my starting first baseman.

i saw a lot of games this year and i'll bet he won a half dozen with his glove alone.

we had a lot of one run games and he saved a bunch with his fielding.  his hitting will improve, as will his power, but he doesn't have to hit a lot better to still be on first base in my estimation.

Sorry slim. I meant to say he has to bunt a lot better. :-)

I wholeheartedly agree with this.

There's no doubt in my mind that he projects to MLB better as a pitcher than a first baseman. But that doesn't mean that's where Augie & Skip need him the most.

If he throws well enough to earn time on the hill, I'll be pleased for him. If that double duty/distraction lowers his performance at 1B....let's just say I'm glad I'm not the coach at that point.

This is where I am glad that Skip Johnson is in control of that decision..

Kacy worked two innings last night to earn that "W"

While I'll probably miss his glove at first, I most definitely won't miss his bat at first.

That being said, there has to be made room for Cantu.  Cantu/Barrera can both play 1B or C and both provide a very significant upgrade at the plate.

Also watch for Mike McCann....

Roger Clemens is in attendance watching his son on the mound, Kacy is pitching for the Woodland Strykers with an 8-1 lead in the 4th
