I think my preferred order would be Jim, Nick, John, then Jimbo, but I honestly didn't think they were feasible options. Hopefully Patterson sets his sights on these targets and pursues aggressively.

This is going to be really interesting to watch develop considering the trajectory of the remainder of San Francisco's season. I would love for Jim to be hired, but the playoff scenarios give me pause.

The common thought is that Chip's source came from within the athletic department; specifically "the highest levels." Patterson? Plonsky? If it was Patterson, it would probably be leaked to speed up the process. If it was Plonsky, maybe it served to paint the University in a negative light...
