Question for the old-timers: Who was better: 1971 Oklahoma or 1983 Nebraska?

Good catch. '72 Horns were a residual team from the Championship years. I never thought we would lose another game. I was over seas...uh...courtesy of the USA at the time and unable to watch any games. That '77 team had Earl Campbell and was a Championship quality team. However....by the end of...

Question for the old-timers: Who was better: 1971 Oklahoma or 1983 Nebraska?

I was just gonna say.... Texas gave up 114 points in 11 games.....that is barely over 10 points a game.... We averaged over 25 points.....you do the math!

Anyway, that 1968 team might have been the best of that era, although both the 1969, and 1970 teams both won National...

    Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

Historically the gulf between number one and even number five is enormous. Sometimes a team gets better and better over a season (Texas last year).... But to think tteam 12 has any chance at all is ludicrus....what do teams 13 through 24 think they are doing there other than getting a...

    Who's on your Longhorn team?

While we are on this.....I think at Texas we have been the recipients of three GOATs at their respective positions. Any team is lucky to have one...Ours were Vince, Earl, and Nobis

I liked this Sark comment. "If we let him, Simmons would wreck every practice"
