College football can be unpredictable., and some teams improve as the season progresses, while others don't. The obvious case was Texas last year. We didn't mske the 12 team playoffs, yet IMHO we would have had a legitimate shot, had we been included in the field.

I don't know how long before we play a BIG12 team, but the playoffs can be unpredictable (2 seasons ago we played Arizona State in the playoffs). Also I wouldn't be surprised if we schedule a BIG12 team as an OOC opponent at some point. After I posted my comment, I saw the entire statement...
